M20 2.7 or 2.8 engine build query

Hi, I am after some advice; I am currently contemplating a 2.7 or 2.8 engine build. The engine I am currently running is a standard 325i engine with a 284/272 shrick cam. Would this be compatible if I were to transfer it to either a 2.7(m21) or 2.8(m52b28) bottom end build? I would appreciate any ad...

Yep, I'm still interested, as long as it is the BTB3 for a M20 which clears an uprated steering rack.

Replacing Rear brake back plates

Hi all, I need to replace the back plate to the rear discs as a handbrake shoe retaining pin and spring departed company and started rattling round inside the disc. As it turns out the hole in the back plate that holds pin had split due to rust. I've ordered new back plates, but can anyone give me s...

Sunroof has gone out of sync!

As the subject suggests my electric sunroof has gone out of sync! It’s about an inch and a half out. I’m guessing it must have slipped on the drive at some point.

Does anyone know how to reset it?

Re: Temp Gauge - How Hot is Ok?

Basically yes, the sender earths through the engine, to the strap and body. But it a has a way to go thro the aluminium stat, head then block to the strap. I even changed my earthstrap as well with no joy. So i tried earthing it direct, and it helped.

Re: Temp Gauge - How Hot is Ok?

After a H/G change on 325, it never used to get to the middle on the guage, so I ran a earth from the base of the sender to the earthing point on the strut, and bingo sits in the middle nicely. Now there is very little wavering in traffic.
Its worth a try.

After cranking can you smell fuel out of the exhaust? Cos mine used to to this but i guess not as bad as yours. Mine used to crank over for a while before catching. It took me years to figure it out. I eventually took my injectors to get ultrasonicly cleaned, they also changed the filters, nozzles &...

As the subject says im after the thickness of the rubber doughnut.

This is because i plan to do the Z3 rack conversion, but i want to do away with the rubber bit in the UJ so i get a more positive steering feel.

This sorted it and it sits bang on the middle now. :D

Under bonnet insulation

My under bonnet foam is really starting to look extremely tatty.
Whats best to do, replace it with the same from BMW or is there any better aftermarket stuff.
I'm running a 6 branch so I don't really want to have without insulation.

Any suggestions?
