Brake lights

Brake lights not working , have changed bulbs checked fuse what else can it be wiring all intact . Just stopped, simple job but cant find the answer .oh it cab 87 3251 :cry: :cry: . The check panel showing brake light warning .

had the same problem mth ago , turned out i left my ipod in there and it got wedge in the torche part gave it a good wack box opened . Have you got anything that might have got caught in the glove box first before you go hammer and tongs at it ?

iam new to the E30 but i understand and feel what you guy are talking about.I have driven some good cars , but i rank the E30 on top , the drive the feel and the look you cant beat, have spent to much on her already but will spend some more cant help it.She does make me smile when i look at her :mad:

Took plate out to tidy up , underneath was a lump of metal housing is that normal ? can i remove as it weighs a TON :mad:

Thanks all , have done the clean . i think coming from the leak is coming gear box housing .Would it be easier to change the seals or pre owned box ? I have just picked up one for £20 1ts come off a 1990 325i would that be ok for mine 88 325i cab ?

Mate check the horse shoe seal , normally rotten main dealer part but easy fix.Bought mine 325i in april with a hood that has being on there for 18 mths dry as a bone . But the seals do perish , i changed all weather seals to a b@@@@ to take off :x . part from tin worm problem i have had no suprises...

gear box questions ?

my box is leaking on my 325i cab not pouring out but dripping when left to sit after a drive for a while then stops. do i A= just keep topping up on oil B=change box? C= if i do change can i do myself or is it a garage job ? :mad: the box is a bit stiff when she first start up then after she warm it...

how would you treat rust on a crome bumper? iam not to worried at the back, wire brush and silver hammerite .But the front were its start to flake in places not bad but small :?

Yes mate but not as simple as that, here are some step by step First the tool you can use anything from a paper clip or you can buy a switch and a timer from maplin and make one for about £2.You can also use a 470 ohm resistor in series within the banana clip.This limits the current to approx. 25m...
