Re: :(

@a8dyc that's a good a point, it's a good opportunity for me to learn from my mistake. It's one hell of lesson to learn!

@rp2 :) good point but it wasn't intentional and I didn't pull it off cleanly.

Re: :(

Thanks everyone for the kind words. It's nice to have this support, I am definitely staying in the BMW family. I am thinking another 325is e30, e30 m3, or just a newer 3 series. If I play it right, I should be able to get a beemer made in this century AND get another e30 to play around with...... @a...

Re: :(

I wish I had taken pics, it all happened quickly and right after, my friends and I were rushing to get the car right side up and off the property. I live in a seasonal resort town so much of the neighborhood is empty....we pulled it off the property and into the road parallel to the curb and left it...

yeah that's true and everyone is beating into my head that point...I am just having trouble putting it into perspective because I really really loved that car. *edit* and I did walk away...unfortunately, I probably would've needed a real injury for complete perspective. I am knocking on wood a...

I wrecked my car tuesday morning. I am very sad and still dejected after it all. I jumped a curbed, did a 720 up someone's driveway smashed into a tree, did another 180 and ended up horizontal on the driveway. I smashed my head on the steering wheel, and was probably knocked unconscious for a few mo...

Thanks supafly for your insight.....if I continue to have problems I'll replace the radiator. Though, I think I should have jus...

Re: Cooling Issue

Doh! I didn't remove the block bolt when I flushed last time. It looks like I have a diagnosing to do this weekend.

All of the hoses were hot except for the lower hose going to the block, which is lukewarm

Re: Cooling Issue

thanks for the replies, I did bang it a bit to no avail. Perhaps, I'll resort to removing the cluster. I did the water pump & timing belt about two years ago +-30k, and I flushed the coolant last summer. I was thinking that maybe the radiator was clogged but all of the hoses feel to touch as they sh...

Cooling Issue

Hi everyone, I have an issue with my 1987 325is 5spd. For some reason the temp gauge now rests at the 3/4 mark. It's been like this for about three weeks now. The car doesn't overheat because I can idle for time and it wont move further, though when I turn off the car and go back 5-10m later the nee...

Re: battery drain help???

does the battery light in the cluster stay on or flicker while driving? that little batt. light isn't an idiot light and is essential to the user, with respect to the charging system. Based on what your symptoms are, I would seriously check that your alternator belt is tight (yes simple, but easy an...

Re: Are cab and saloon windscreens the same ?

fwiw, the black lock straps from all late e30's except M3 are re-useable and a direct fit to the early e30's with what used to be the white (now probably dish water color) lockstrap. And it's VERY easy to do both front and back. 45m tops

This is silly geez! just change the damn oil...thats the first thing you should've done. Re: rear wheel bearings

I would buy a pair of trailing arms from someone on here and get some new bearings pressed in. When I had mine done they need about 6 tons of pressure, a old a guy at a local machine shop did them for £10 a side. You can then change the arms and seals at your leisiure :D +1 I did the same last week...

My IS lip is sagging and really has nothing to keep it secured to the valance, bumper, frame, etc. Except for strategically placed zipties....so tod...

Blower Motor and Resistor Pack

Does anyone know how to access & install the resistor pack on a euro spec 325i?
It is not in the same spot as the american e30's with the resistor pack in the acutal blower motor. It appears that I need to remove the dash to access it, I thought i'd ask before destroying the interior of my ride
