The only aftermarket air filter that has shown any improvement in airflow is the BNC canister air filter but even this is marginal IIRC. The K&N just sucks in the warm air under the bonnet. Give Cotswold BMW a call for the lock. There should be a 4 digit number on the lock you can order a new one with.

I too like the look of the M3 panneled touring. That looks like a dips creation to me. As it is it's looking like a great car. Look forward to seeing the end item.
