Re: PBMW Coombe Pictures, sideways action enclosed
hi all, good fun race on Monday, glad people enjoyed watching it, about 4 cars cracked sumps on kerbs on the chicanes and were spreading oil evenly round the circuit, the heavy rain on the last few laps just spread the oil around making the circuit very slippery!

Re: PBMW @ Brands Hatch this weekend
top days racing, somehow i got through the PBMW race without finding any of the oil and in a reasonable position as well.
For some reason i was going a bit slower in the Pre-93 Touring races but wasn't too bad.
glad people enjoyed it.
come on jimmy finish that car

the gear box mountings are probably also about to go - these are the only things at the back of the gearbox stopping the enngine going forward, they'll be on the way out if the've been taking engine weight loads

strip and refit everything that can possibly be serviced whilst its out, e.g. clutch, waterpump, cambelt, tensioner, plugs leads gaskets etc Engine rebuild if you're keen? Reshell bottom end, piston rings and hone etc. Head: renew valves, springs, oil seals, maybe a more sporty cam, some head work? ...

or if you want more camber, but +/-30min = +/-0.5 deg isn't worth much for more (negative) camber
(running -4Ԛ° camber on front left wheel and still getting wear on the outside edge, but its getting better...)

Re: Front camber mount designs...
hi caneswell, i've got the bimmerworld fixed camber plates. They do look very easy to make, they're just metal plate cut to shape with 6 studs welded in. In my opinion the quality of the ones i got was not very good in build quality although perfectly functional but it looks like the ones in the pic...

from experience (although i swapped the other way) drive train: gearbox, propshaft, diff, gearshift console/shifter (the bit the gearstick sits in), gear shift rod (the bit between the gear stick and the gear box), and the shock damper metal donut for the 325 that's not on the 320 and there's probab...

just thought i would bttt this one - i've done it and its all sorted on my car, brakes work fine in races no leaks. the flexy hoses worked fine to join the brake pipes, it don't look pretty but does the job. Passed an MOT with no probs. Remember this is for a track car, i wouldn't recommend this for...

good luck Jimmy, let me know if you need any help (not that i can do much). just to disagree slightly with some previous posters, 100mph on an autobahn will only put the load of engine/transmission frictional losses and 100mph air resistance on the engine. This will not necessarily be a massive load...

Cobra do an E30 set of side mounts, bolt straight in developed for the PBMW cars Surely the seat would be in the wrong place? assuming that these are otherwise the same as for a BMW ARB these will fit, they're just a bit of a pig to get in. You may need to do some careful trimming to help things along, i found that an angle grinder is just the thing to trim polybush. you may then need a trolley jack or molegrips to compres...

slowlysideways - the bonnet hinge does weigh a couple of kilos it's quite a solid bit of metal and it all counts if your trying to get tens of kilos off the car. I saw your other posts in motorsport.
