Re: PBMW Coombe Pictures, sideways action enclosed

hi all, good fun race on Monday, glad people enjoyed watching it, about 4 cars cracked sumps on kerbs on the chicanes and were spreading oil evenly round the circuit, the heavy rain on the last few laps just spread the oil around making the circuit very slippery!

Re: PBMW @ Brands Hatch this weekend

top days racing, somehow i got through the PBMW race without finding any of the oil and in a reasonable position as well.
For some reason i was going a bit slower in the Pre-93 Touring races but wasn't too bad.
glad people enjoyed it.

the gear box mountings are probably also about to go - these are the only things at the back of the gearbox stopping the enngine going forward, they'll be on the way out if the've been taking engine weight loads

Reshell bottom end, piston rings and hone etc. Head: renew valves, springs, oil seals, maybe a more sporty cam, some head work? ...

hi caneswell, i've got the bimmerworld fixed camber plates. They do look very easy to make, they're just metal plate cut to shape with 6 studs welded in. In my opinion the quality of the ones i got was not very good in build quality although perfectly functional but it looks like the ones in the pic...

good luck Jimmy, let me know if you need any help (not that i can do much). just to disagree slightly with some previous posters, 100mph on an autobahn will only put the load of engine/transmission frictional losses and 100mph air resistance on the engine. This will not necessarily be a massive load...

Don't throw them away, you might want to put to put one back on after you get your left foot cooked. If the air temperature isn't cold enough to take the exhaust heat from the transmission tunnel it gets too hot to touch.

assuming that these are otherwise the same as for a BMW ARB these will fit, they're just a bit of a pig to get in. You may need to do some careful trimming to help things along, i found that an angle grinder is just the thing to trim polybush. you may then need a trolley jack or molegrips to compres...

i'm not sure i follow the problem you describe with the 2000rpm; but if you're getting a clonk from the rear on changing up a gear check the diff mounting bolts to the sub-frame these can become loose and cause a clonk on upshift.
