volvo t5 engine is a great powerplant, if all thats required is an adapter plate to make it fit bmw gearbox then go for it. how much does the adapter plate cost? im not sure if its that simple, it would certainly be a custom plate anyway, dunno how much that will cost. ppc or retro cars had a mk1/2...

the down side to the volvo 960 box is that it has a fault ,i belive its with fast gear changes crunchin 3rd and wreckin boxes ,theres a simple mod that you can do to fix this , but whats the point when you can use all the remaining bmw drive train ?

well the bottom end is fine ,the head gasket will need help though in the form of welded head ,with or with out wire o-rings standard gasket ,or mls gasket used with a stud and nut kit insted of standard bolts , you can use the standard ecu with a chip and riseing rate fuel reg but it is not the way...

personaly i dont go turboing a non turbo engine as it is so expensive to get a good engine with low compretion,guess you will need an old engine thats been round the world twice, then stick a turbo on that, engine management ect,double the power yipee lots of wheel spin fun to drive then bang the o...

if you only have standard head fixings they are just bolts ,and in that case i would not raise the boost any more ,

i just had my water chanels welded ,an a head reskim ,and checked the valve seats were not warped was £333.00 includin vat ,are you wanting the head o-ringed or the block ?, were are you in the country?

ok i am a dip shit the car is a 1995 ,is deff a 3l s50 In which case the E30 fuel pump will be fine. A 1995 3.0l will have EWS, so there could be an issue there, but we still need more details. 1996 will be a 3.2 evo, so it needs a 5 bar fuel pump, not the 3 bar pump in the E30. It might start with the E30 pump, but its not going to do it any favours. The M50 wiring is not the same as the S50 wiring. Unless you have followed the S50 wiring info, that would be the first port of call for th...

yes it has run in an e36 m3 ,so what has been put in the e30 is a running package from that car ,bar the fuel pump . the wireing side of things has been taken from the m50 sticky thread ,i take it that this is the same ? thanks garyUweM3 wrote:ok I am trying again.

engine from a 1996 car, as said it will fire up for a few sec with insta start spray , doesnt smell of fuel but is sparkin ,so just want to rule out the fuel pump ,thanks for the reply

as above a friend has the engine fitted too a e30 b20 with standard fuel pump but wont start ,will start with insta start thought, surely it should start with that fuel pump ?

the calipers are W124 300E/190E cosworth. Not 300D! Pagid,ferrodo seem to be the main companys for them. I've got a set of pagid road pads, and ferrodo DS2500 for track work on my setup.
