Re: Southwest Sunday 21st December Exmoor–Dartmoor Drive+C

Yeh mate there was some awesome roads, twisty just doesn't cover it! Yeh there was only 2 cars, it was ok though it was easy to keep track of each other. I like the photo of a Dartmoor rock formation with me in the door mirror having a cheeky look! Looking forward to the next one, hopefull...

Re: Southwest Sunday 21st December Exmoor–Dartmoor Drive+C

I'm up for this, I love having a blast down some twisties! Car had a few running issues but it seems to have sorted itself now. I think she needs a good drive like this because I've been using her for my daily commute of 90 miles and shes probably got a bit clogged up with the economical driving! I'...

Re: fuel or electrical ?

Just been for a drive and it was fine, crusing, accelerating and tick over all fine!

I've got a 100 mile commute to and from work tomorrow so that'll be a good test for it!

Re: fuel or electrical ?

Sorry Brian, please see edit :o:

Is it likely that a DME relay could be faulty because it seems that a lot of zoners are suffering the same problem?Intermitant power cuts when using the accelerator

I'll have to film it and get a video posted up!

Re: fuel or electrical ?

It's the intermitant thing that gets me. It last did it about a month ago, then six months ago before that. It just doesn't make sense! I have done alot more miles in it recently though so maybe we've booked in for a kangaroo-show every few thousand miles! :D How easy was it to get at the DME relay?...

Re: Sills and Rear Inner Arches Question

I got a FACELIFT 316i and the inner rear arches went on mine right into the sills and my Dad used the outer rear arches from a PRE-FACELIFT E30 as they had the right angles needed.

Random but it worked and the arches were only £20 each!

I think it would be worth you having a look at Sparkys responses to his 'electrical or fuelling problems' thread as mine is doing the same as yours only when accelerating and there are a few more ideas on there

Re: fuel or electrical ?

I was just about to put a post up like this because mine has just started doing it again! However today I did notice that it's only when I use the accelerator that it starts cutting out rather than all the time but I think it may just be warning me this time! When I pulled over the revs would...

Re: Dodgy running

Hi All,

my Dad had a look at the distributor cap but thats all good.

Brian, sorry to sound stupid but whats a DME relay? There's no mention of it in the Haynes manual
Is it in the fusebox with the other relays?

Thanks again

Dodgy running

Hi All, I have a 1989 316i that has 180,000 miles on the clock and she seems to have developed bit of a 'cough' when cruising. I've been doing a 100 mile round trip in the old girl on Tuesdays to Thursdays for the last couple of weeks and this is on a 50mph road and a short piece of dual carriageway...

I just wanted to say i had a great day yesterday, it was good to meet up with a few more zoners and put some faces to names. I was also well impressed with the turnout.

Big thanks to Eko for the no power steering idea because it meant I was able to show up!

Looking forward to the next meet.

URGENT: Power steering leak and MOTs on Saturday!

Does anybody know what could cause leakage from the power steering because it's p***ing out every time I turn the wheel.

Could it be coming from the seals at the end of the steering arm? If so are they easy to replace?

If you need any more info let me know. Any help is much appreciated
