Re: Standard Mtech suspension - are GSF any good

i had this problem with motormec, they had the same springs listed for most models (!!). To be certain of originality, it seems that the main stealer is the only way to go. In the end i just changed the shocks and top mounts at the rear, the difference / improvement was vast.

Re: Fumes in car?

are they definately exhaust fumes ?, i had exactly this with a fuel type smell, turned out that the seal around the fuel pump had perished and the open window was moving the air around in the car enough to stir up the fumes....

my g reg is is also alpine 2, and yes i think it changed with the facelift. My mate who sprayed the front wing said that it had faded a lot though, and the rest of the car is now somewhere between alpine 1 & 2, according to his charts....lovely !

Re:

the torque wasnt worrying me, it was getting the old one off and not being able to get the new one on without a press, leaving me with one very immobile car, and one very cross wife !!
Had thought about doing without the screw and just usintg the wheel bolts, and have to say it is appealing !

318is exhaust, best option ?

Evening All,
I need a new back box for my 318is and wondered what the general opinion was as regards replacement. Dont want anything too big and loud, perhaps a little deeper in tone, but as standard looking as possible. Any Ideas ?? Many thanks

Re: Clutch Fluid Reservior / pipe

thanks chris,
it is possibly just the outer sheath then, fingers crossed, although if i'm doing both cylinders, i guess it'l be best to change the pipe as well if its that easy.
Would ECP parts be ok for cylinders do you think?

Clutch Fluid Reservior / pipe

Hope someone can help with this, the pipe which leaves the bottom of the clutch fluid reservoir on my 318is is all rotten ( guessing fluid leak has caused this?) The pipe appears to go into the bulkhead at a totally inaccesible point, just below the battery tray. Has anyone on the zone ever managed ...
