Touring Electric Window Problem
Hi, Recently been having a problem with the driver's side electric window on my 94 touring. The window goes down fine but when I try to put the window back up it keeps stopping. I have to keep putting my finger on the switch and even then it only just creeps up (very slowly). Wondering if it may be ...

How Best to Treat Rust??
Got a few bits of rust on my touring which I was planning to treat myself (front wheelarch, door bottom, tailgate etc). Looks to be mostly surface rust (just a bit of bubbling) so was planning to rub it down, treat it, fill if required then prime and paint. Just wondering if this is the best way to ...

Re: Central locking failure...........need some help please
Thanks Brian, Only just got a chance to have a look at this the other day due to the rubbish weather and because it has been busy at work. Thought I would try a quick fix first and replaced the central locking ecu with another that I had which funnily enough didn't make any difference. Whilst replac...

Central locking failure...........need some help please
Hi, Went out to use my 316i touring today after it had not been used for a week or so. It had been cold overnight and snowed a bit so was dubious that it would even start. I unlocked the car from the driver's door as normal but only the driver's door unlocked (I thought this was a bit strange as the...

316i - What Diff??
Got a 94 316i Touring that has had a grumbling diff ever since I bought it. Have tried to ignore it but has got considerably worse over the last week or so. Being totally non mechanically minded I presume that this is something that needs to be replaced rather than repaired? If that is the case - wh...

150mph in a 316i Touring.........?
Well not quite but that is what my speedo was indicating!! Think I must have a problem with it as the past few days my speedo has intermittently been playing up. Driving a long at normal motorway speed it suddenly spins round to max (150mph) where it will either sit for a couple of secs or in the ca...

Re: Independent BMW Specialist - Central Scotland
Definitely don't need the stamp in my service book - how do I contact JBH, just drop him a PM?
Buzz - stay in Bannockburn so will keep an eye out for you. There are 2 other e30s locally (325i's), one up my street and one sits outside Gorman's now and again (is for sale).

Newbie With Touring - Few Questions?
Just picked up my new touring tonight and have noticed a few issues with it which I was hoping somebody here might be able to give me some advice on? Slight droning from the car at higher speeds (worse on corners) - I am presuming this is a wheel bearing and cheap to replace? Used the rear screen wa...

Re: Independent BMW Specialist - Central Scotland
Thanks for the replies.
I live in Stirling and work in Edinburgh so looks like M3 Motor Company might be a good shout as they are fairly local. The touring I have bought is just a piddly 316i but it is only for commuting back and forward to work and chucking my mountain bike in.

Independent BMW Specialist - Central Scotland
Hi,
Just bought a e30 bmw touring yesterday. Car is in good nick but could do with a service and cambelt change. Does anyone know any good BMW specialists around Central Scotland that I could use to do the work?
Cheers,
Peter

Re: Did any of the larger engined e30s make it to 94?
Don't know about 93/94 but my 92 is a 325i. Better to look at condition rather than age Definitely. My old touring was a 92 318i which was going to need a few bits done and had badly faded paint because it was red so I sold it (should never have done it). Now 2 years on I have seen some suitable re...

Looking at getting another e30 touring at some point (to replace a pug diesel). All the late tourings I have seen for sale have been 318i's and 316i's (83,94 models). Were there ever any 320/325 tourings made as late as 93/94?
Cheers,
Peter

E30 Buying Guide?
Hi, Apologies if this is a frequent topic on here but was wondering if there was an E30 buying guide anywhere (had a quick search and couldn't find one)? Am hoping to sell my Mk2 Golf GTI shortly and hopefully buy a late 318i, 320i or 325i (4dr) and was just wondering what I should look for? Had a 1...
