Wow, I must admit I'm quite surprised in a sense! It really is a shame I think if these guys can't even get their money back, considering the amount of labour and skill they put into those cars in addition to the financial costs. Well, I guess it's good news if anyone is in the market for one! Regar...

How much would such a car be worth? (E30 with special engine
Hello guys, As there aren't exactly a lot of such cars around, I wanted to get a feel of how much such a car could be going for / is worth. The car in question is an E30, with the E36 M3 engine, either an S50 or S52 engine in it. Not an E30 M3 car, but a 'normal' E30 with the afore mentioned engine....

Re: Differences between E30 parts? Radiator & block (lhd
Thank you for the help.
Another slightly different question then: would a radiator from an E36 318is fit into the E30? Or is there something different (mounting / pipe locations)?
cheers,

Differences between E30 parts? Radiator & block (lhd&
Hello all, I have a couple of questions with regards to interchangeability of parts between various E30 derivatives. The first one is with regards to the radiator: do all E30s have the same radiator? So for example would a radiator from a 316i or a 325i fit into my 318is? The second question concern...

Windscreen wash always on - strange electrical problem
Dear all, I was toodling along on a country road in the rain in my E30 318is, and all of a sudden the windscreen jetwash just turned on. I had the wipers on because of the rain, but then the winscreen wash turned on as well, and I couldn't turn it off. I stopped, turned the engine off, and of course...

E30 M3 EvoIII?
I heard recently that there was a BMW E30 M3 EvoIII, which is different from the Sport Evolution, and which apparently had the 3.5L straight-six from the M5!! Apparently, it wasn´t built directly by BMW, but by a private company under license from BMW, and only a hundred (or so) were made. Is this...

Re: Bit of an odd one: Removing paint from your driveway?
It's a valid point, and why I didn't want to use nitromors. Went to about three places, got some chemicals, used some acidy stuff with a wire brush, and it turned out almost too good, its very clean now, stands out from the rest!

Bit of an odd one: Removing paint from your driveway?
I was spray painting some panels on my driveway, and even though I put paper and things under them, some still went onto the driveway, guess I didn't use enough paper. I might not be the first person to do this, so was wondering if anyone had any tips of how to remove the sprayed paint from the driv...

Re: 318is springs ??
They are 15mm lower at the front and 17mm lower at the rear (or the other way around) than standard 316 and 318, and I haven't found anyone other than dealers supply them.
Additionally, 318is have 51 mm front struts, so I'm not sure if the standard springs would even fit.

Re: M10 engine or a M40 engine,
I agree, M10 is probably better. I know some people who would say that the M10 is indeed one of the best 4 cylinder engine designs of all time. (They do have M10 engines, so they're probably a bit biased though!

Re: quick question
Sorry for keeping on with this topic, but I find it very interesting! It's always good to learn about these kind of things. Anyhow, the inlet is definitely under atmospheric pressure under idle, and in fact it is only around atmospheric at full throttle. But, the crankcase is basically always over-p...

Re: quick question
True, air gets into the inlet manifold via the crankcase breather, however, that air is under atmospheric pressure. When the crankcase breather is attached, there is higher than atmospheric pressure. Therefore, the pressure difference between intake and crankcase breather is less with the crankcase ...

If the tire does not have the direction of rotation specifically indicated, does that mean that it can be fitted to either side of the vehicle?

Hello, I have a 318is (so 51 mm front struts), I was wondering if anyone could supply a guide to fitting/changing springs on such a car? Re: quick question
I was under the impression it was due to introducing unmetered air into the intake system via the crank case breather system? Wouldn't mind more details about this loss of compression if you don't mind, Nelly? I think that's pretty much it. You will have slightly less air going into the combustion ...

Hello all, There is an LSD, looks the following: http://i3.ebayimg.com/02/i/000/ac/68/a3b6_1.JPG It has 40 teeth (crownwheel). Also, the unit is 168 mm. Now, my question is, will this fit a completely standard 318is open diff casing? If so, will any other extra parts need to be fitted other than wha...

Re: Replacing Engine oil 1.8IS M42 ENGINE
Don't even need to jack it up: if you lie on the ground, and look under the front bumper/spoiler, you will see a hex bolt on the front of the sump, simply undo that, put something underneath to collect the oil, and out it comes. Also change the filter, which is very easy, as it's an element filter, ...

I can recommend Brembos, it's pretty much the best name when it comes to brakes. They have very good quality disks. Their OEM spec disks are pretty much the same price as whatever Eurocarparts are selling. So perhaps that's a good option.

Thanks for the replies, and Pad, thanks for the awesome write-up! So basically the trick is not to spray the paint, but rather use a toothpick or the like to apply it only to the chipped area, right?
And by the way, excellent results on that Escort!

I've been doing a bit of research on this as well, and basically Bridgestones (especially Potenzas) came out either first or second on basically every single test.
