Re: Silly front tyre wear, poly beam bushes
No alignment check yet, didnt think there was much in the way of adjustment.
It doesnt pull at all, it used to pull under braking but since a disc and pad change its all sweet.

Re: Need some help with E36/E30 M42 bits
I tried searching! I know the bits I need to swap, its other little things im wondering about, such as the throttle body. If its the same I can spend the next few weeks playing around polishing it up and opening it a little bit. The exhaust manifold, if its the same I will get it wrapped, and check ...

Going to be swapping a M42 from a E36 into my E30 next month, just want to know if a couple of the bits are the same, like the exhaust manifold and thottle body?
Also, fuel rail and injectors, and lower intake manifold?
Thanks!

Re: a few pic's of me and my mates at lydd drift day
What did your M42 drift like?
I had a go at a drift day at barkston heath a few months ago, and could never get the hang of it. Gearing was too funky, 1st was too low, 2nd was too high.

Re: GSF Vs. BMW parts
I work for GSF. Gaskets, filters, head bolts, engine bits are all pretty good. Same with brakes, make sure you go for brembo or zimmerman, and pagid or textar pads and your safe. I wouldnt suggest buying ANY suspension parts though. Cheap quality bushes, and you'll be changing them 6 months later, e...

Right.... erm.. I shall admit to buying one of those chips off ebay. The first chip he sent, didnt work. The car stutterd from anything below 3000RPM, but after that... it did drive so much better. I contacted the seller, and he was really helpful, and he sent me two others, one which was the same, ...

Should a LSD be making any noises when turning tight corners? Mine makes a noise which sounds like bushes creaking, or exhausts moving against mounts, but its none of those, as I checked them last week. The noise isnt getting worse, just wondering if its the diff dragging or something and supposed t...

Has anyone bought a complete, built up 4cyl engine and bought it home in an e30 before? Might need to do this tomorrow in mine, 2 door saloon.
Thought about taking passenger, and back seat out and it might work.

Found a engine out of a K plate 318is, will this do? Can I just change the pully on the power steering pump to keep the serpantine belt?
I'll whip the sump off the new engine anyway just to see where I stand, so oil pickup be alright.

Re: Just about dead M42.
I'll stick with a M42 if I can get hold of one for not silly money, thats not done a million miles, its a fine engine, apart from the timing chain issues I had. So what year or car do I look at for getting hold of an engine? What needs to be swapped? Can I use my original ECU, chip and stuff? Thanks!

Well I think its had it, after 190,000 miles, most of them on the limit I guess, the engine in my 318is is letting go. Mayo in the dipstick tube and down every breather pipe, uses a little bit of oil, but no oil pressure at all anymore. Drained the oil yesterday and the sump to find 3 parts of a big...

Might just leave it, its noisey but with a new chain it should last some time... shouldnt it?
