Re:
Short shift kit does not make gear changes any quicker. Transmission determines the speed of the gear change. It can feel quicker though. However, it gives better feeling in changes so thats a good reasonf for do it. Do not make too short or it will heavy to change.

Re: optimum suspension gemoetry for good handling
Well, just lift the car from the other side until tires come up, then lower it little bit. This will give you a crude estimate of the bodyroll when cornering hard. Then check the tire angle on the other side where tyres are on the ground. If it seems that tyres are evenly touching the ground you hav...

Re: Best E30 Trackcar Base..? 318is or 325 Sport
I have a 318is as a track day car and atleast here in Finland the heavy-nose 325 can't keep up with 318is. Our tracks are little bit shorter and twistier.
The car is so balanced that it makes me smile. During next weekend I will be chasing Alfa's on their track day.

They promise 6-13 hp, but has anyone dynoed it? I would like to see dyno results before buying.

Re: Wierd metal "hissing" noice from the Engine (
HOWEVER, when I put me hands on the top of the intake manifold and leaned on it (almost all my weight, 200lbs) it went silent, the hissing sound disappeared?? If I pressed left or right side of the manifold, no effect. Only by pressing from the center it went silent? Sounds even more like an inlet ...

Re: Wierd metal "hissing" noice from the Engine (
I found something: 1) I tried to tighten the nuts in the heat plate --> no effect. I think it was tight already. Re: Wierd metal "hissing" noice from the Engine (
Ok, lets assume its manifold gasket. However, should not there be somekind of signds of bad idling if the is a airleak in the manifold few questions; if the timing chain is worn or the nylon thing that that pushes, should it be heard clearly with a screwdriver? I'm not sure if the word Hissing is be...

Wierd metal "hissing" noice from the Engine (M42
Hello, Could you please advice me regarding this wierd noice that can be heard when driving 3000-4000 rpm. It's sounds like metallic hissing against each other. It can be also heard during idle speed. I already swapped the timing chain tensioner, no help. Then I tried to listen the source of the noi...

Stock 318is's: distance from wheel arc to wheel hub?
Can someone post the measurement of the distance between wheel arc to wheel hub of a stock 318is( 205/55/15). My register file says it is in the front 310mm and in the back 330mm. The car is equipped with a lowering kit and 215/40/16 tyres which have smaller diameter than original 205/55/15. I'm try...

Re:
As i guess since they are 16" wheels i would say that your car is at the standard height, if it was 60mm or lower already i would expect to see the front wheels near neough in the arches. Hmm, are you sure? Since it is (or has been) a M-tech suspension which lower from the OEM setup. Measures are 3...

Help to choose a suspension for my 318is! (pics and video)
Well, now I have done it! I went and bought a track-day car...yes of course, a e30 318is But I'm totally lost since I have to choose a suspension set which is on the cheap side (meaning no coilovers) but not totally rubbish. So, what I need is part numbers for different set's which fit e30 318is! Co...
