Inlet manifolds for triple 45's
Does anyone know if there's anyone producing the inlet manifolds for a 325 these days that are suitable for fitting triple 45's?
I used to have a set made by griffin motorsport but sold them a couple of years ago.

As most people have said... poly bushes, good tyres, spacers will give you a little improvement and a good set of coilovers if budget will allow. You could even try tyre softener!! Get the suspension geometry tested aswell... you never know! Kumho racers often remove the rear ARB for a wet race too....

you can also use the RS2000 race spec engine mounts from Rally Design which are much stronger than standard and raise the engine a few mm IIRC

you can run e30 327's with carbs or TB's in class C no problem... not many are doing that though... there's an E36 320 which would be trounced by a 327 on carbs for sure.

....incidently does anyone have a "good" laptime for rockingham? For the 1.7M circuit, your car did it in 2.04.52 back in 2005 if that helps...but it was capable of better as I was gaining on him using a bog standard 325 engine on standard injection through the twisty bits and he pulled away again ...

Re: Oulton Park drift and car control day Sept 26th
Not really! I missed qualifying 1 because the engine wouldn't fire up (even though it was fine on and off the trailer), then when we changed the plugs for some others and it fired up, it did 4 laps and threw a piston ring....game over! The really annoying thing is I qualified ahead of 3 or 4 other c...

Re: Wheel bearings for track cars
I used the better quality GSF ones for years on my 325 and yeah you might need to change them once a season but for the price you can't go wrong. Having said that, it's very easy to fit them badly and end up with them failing very quickly

Ahh all becomes clear!! I know Dave and John well.. just haven't spoken to them in ages! I've been toying with the idea of doing the pre-93 with my e36 but then again it's up for sale at the moment so no idea what I'll end up doing!! lol I miss my E30s though!

Re: Battery - Boot install
that'll be the one!! Although I would've put it across the other way mate, as if it slips in a crash that strap could easily short your battery terminals, especially that positive! If that touches the strap it'll effectively be shorting the battery!

Re: Battery - Boot install
You can easily create a bracket for track/racing by using two lengths of threaded bar and some nyloc nuts... you just need a plate to go across the battery and stick some foam under it to stop it sliding on teh top of the battery. The standard BMW one is pants!

Re: kumho regs
For the track you'd want to keep some rear camber anyway to be honest but yeah for Kumho at least, you can adjust geometry as much as you like so long as the original mounting points are used.

There's also a lot of Kumho used V700's around if you speak to ProTyre Motorsport in Stoke they'll sell you a used set. They last pretty well but aren't the best in the wet...you've been warned! :D ProTyre also used to do the Clio championship support so had lots of used slicks for sale... worth ask...

Re: kumho regs
For Kumho you can pretty much lighten any part of the original metal bodywork so long as you don't weaken the structure. You also need to retain metal wings and doors though. Plastic windows are allowed but that's a recent addition to allow the E30's to up the power to weight.

Re: Swirl Pot Advice
This is a common problem.. here's what I did on my old E30 (now owned by Shorty)... it uses a fabricated swirlp pot from www.brise.co.uk, a facet red top to pump into the swirl pot and a Sytec race injection pump to send fuel to the engine. To be honest, the standard pumps are pretty good though so ...

Re: Anyone had any experiance with these engine mounts?
I fitted the RS2000 ones to my old e30 race car when I built it (now Shorty73's car) and it's done nearly 4 full years of racing without fault! They are much stronger than the BMW ones but not as harsh on the engine mount arms as solid ones. It's not un-common for the alloy arms to break if you go t...

One of the main benefits of changing to plastic wondows is dropping teh centre of gravity. Having said that, the weight difference isn't all that big until you do the rear window and have NOTHING else left to lighten!!
