I would like to come to this whats the admission for the car etc?
Mine is a black E30 1983 316 with chrome bumpers & pre c plate square face lift model.

if nothing works to release it then cowling off & very sharp chisel & hammer to cut through the lock housing, & new lock & key! Maybe thats why you got it for free!

When I replaced mine I got them in so far with the vice then my brother, who is a mechanic told me I was a "winker" & told me to put them on an axel stan & lower the car on to them. Thus using the weight of the car to push them in, while making sure there was a ton of grease on them.

get new door at Breakers, sound better?

don't know what number it is but the Knuckle right up at the gear box, with a large barrel clip securing it. I didn't replace it & it remained like stirring apot of soup until I did. If you've got the box out then please do it. If not then you've got to drop the prop', exhaust & loosen off the back ...

there is a pacth weld on one of the branches & one set looks rather beaten at the junction, sot gas flow might be impaired.

Has anyone ever fitted an power steeing pump to an m10 engine ? Mine is rack & pinion. Apparently the rack from an m20 will fit. but the pump I am still unclear.

Has anyone ever fitted a power steering pump from an m20 or other, on to a an m10 engine. I want to swap my rack & pinion to PAS. Last posting helped out that the rack will swap, but don't know about the pump & belt.

Don't do it! car running fine ? don't go throught the pain of a clean but stuffed engine. My buddy steam cleaned his e30, no probs before, but now (even bagged all the sparkies) the car misfires, ecu went, inducted some steam down the inlets, & stuffed some sensors. Shi** idea! just use gunk & a clo...

Dear all in e30 land, has anyone swaped an m10 rack & pinion steering for a power steering set up? If yes, what model did you take it from & what are your tips for doing the swap?
