On the "Jaffa Cake" I used four strips of steel to effectively bridge the gap around the edge of the sunroof panel. By being cunning with the widths I was able to weld to the double skinned parts, avoiding any heat distortion of the roof skin. (incidentally, Northloop had already carved a 2 inch gas...

I have read somewhere that the underseal on these cars contains asbestos, that can release dangerous fibres if burned or ground off. I will try to find some confirmation of this, but in the meantime be careful!!

These are the reworked originals, but they have done more than just add the threaded collars. The damper insert has been removed, and whatever they have fitted now has a nut fastening it at the bottom of the strut tube, through a drilled hole.
