Can I suggest cayman autos in dorking, they fixed my motors and realigned everything and now it works perfectly, only picked it up this morning.

Adam, stayed late last night to get my roof working perfectly, can't fault them really.

Re: Autotech BMW

Well the guy had a good poke around underneath and only found very minor issues, and some early signs of surface rust. (happy days) having said that, he never removed the kit in the end, no signs that it would have been hiding anything though. Job done, car sold. Friendly bunch who seem to know thei...

Re: Autotech BMW

There's bound to be something, I just hope I dont drive home Fred flintstone style!

I'm quite interested to see just what is lurking, seems a very solid car all round but I've never seen under the kit and I know how much they can hide.

Just another overpriced turd I suppose.

Il be there from about 10.30am on Thursday, with a guy who is paying them to inspect the car. I'm hoping there's no gremlins or crust lurking anywhere.

Autotech BMW

Has anyone heard of or used them? I'm taking my car there for an inspection for a potential buyer.
Just wanted to make sure there are no horror stories behind them?
Any advice in letting someone inspect your car (removing kit etc)

Re: Roof woes again!

Screw 17 holds on part number 4 and not part 18, part 18(the drumstick) has another thin screw which is not shown the diagram.

Re: Roof woes again!

BMW have said that they think the screw is included with the drumstick looking lever, which is £110 inc vat!! That's a bit steep considering I only need the screw!
Does anyone have any info on this screw? Is it a special BMW part or could I pick one up somewhere?

Re: Roof woes again!

Gert, it's the long screw that is missing from my drumstick but the screw is not in the above diagram. I have no idea what it even looks like, so I don't know what I'm looking for.
Part 17 is all good on mine.

Re: Roof woes again!

That's exactly what I mean, mine hasn't got a screw which is causing the drumstick to rock rather than just spin, there is no screw shown in the BMW diagrams neither.

Roof woes again!

Can anyone tell me if there should be a long bolt which would screw the main drive lever into the motor or does it just drop in? I seem to have a hole where the screw would fit but no screw, this is causing the lever to move backwards and forward rather than just turning. Thanks for any help in adva...

I'm after a broken cabby hood motor, doesn't matter if it's sheared as all I needs the hinged part.

Re: Who wants a spotted thread on the zone?

Well I'm not against it but I'm not sure it would work, to find out if anyone had spotted you whilst out driving you have to go into the was it you section and search , why would anyone do this? If you had both acknowledged each other at the time ie waved whilst going opposite directions then you mi...

Re: What would you do about a massive dent...

Look for a cheap door in your colour, and compare the price of having it done at a body shop/dent removal. Personally I'd prefer to keep my original door but if the dent is that bad and cost of repair is that much then new door it is. By the way I had lots of small dents taking out of my car for £60...

It's a bit like the idiot scooby drivers that have their own name put on the side windows thinking that they are now rally drivers. Very bent indeed.

Re: What is it?

They done a good job on the car though, polished up lovely, really pissed off when I got home and had to do it again (after spending £15 on it!)
I will ask them what it was and tell them to keep that shite away from my car, if it was a product Il be back to warn you all away from it.

Taxed the cabby at the beginning of April (as I do every year) and I've driven it once because of the poxy weather!! Not even had a chance to clean it yet!!

Anyone else wasted a months worth of tax?
