If its a white coloured NIP then its £60 3 points. I got caught in my 328i sport in June, clocked at 82 in a 70. First time in 18 years of driving so i was a bit pi$$ed off!! Hate the way they make you out to be a criminal... :x Heres an excellent site, all you need to know..get it on your favourite...

Re: My new toy
Thanks...i was going to get an e36 touring but i would have been waiting a long time for a good one that meets my requirements to turn. So it was a case of spend a bit more and get something a bit better! The 330i is what i wanted and it has a bit grunt than my 328i Sport. Wish i could keep the e30 ...

Sounds like an electrical fault to me.
I had a wiper linkage arm sheer in half on my old e36 318is..it was on the drivers side during a heavy down pour on the M5..scarey stuff!

Re: E36 323i touring problem
Fella £3k is just too much money-especially if there are problems with it. I bought my E36 323i SE Touring in February - 91k, FSH, 1 owner, 12 months MOT and no rust on it anywhere. Had some initial problems with the cooling system which were sorted under warranty FOC by the dealer - I paid £2k whi...

Re: E36 323i touring problem
No M52 E36 has an Alusil block. http://forum.bmwcarmagazine.com/viewtopic.php?t=40620 IIRC M60's (V8's) were Alusil replacements but E36 323i/328i's got steel liners. Ive heard this as well as there seems to be a difference of opinions on the issue. I looked into this when i bought my 328i sport an...

Is 1998 after the nicosil issue Regardless of that, you've said yourself it's overpriced and it has rust. 'nuff said. It had a build date of April 98 which would make it an Alusil block so no issues there. Id be prepared to pay decent money for a top notch example which this one promised to be. If ...

E36 323i touring problem
I went and looked at a 1998 323i touring with full history and 94k on the clock. The car is in excellent condition but priced fairly high at £2995 though will come with 12 months MOT and 6 Months tax. However on the test drive i noticed that whenever we came to an incline or hill the car lost power ...

Makes you wonder whether the E30 crash was survivable. Id say the passenger side no but drivers side possibly.
Quite spectacular though!

Worryingly i think this is becoming a common problem as ive noticed alot of BMW's in Plymouth with just one grill missing..more than just to be a coincidence. Also ask BMW to check the VIN to see if it had its recall to have a new block fitted. Like BMJG said an Alusil block will have a pear shaped blanking plate down near the starter on the n/s. I went through the same processes when i was looking to buy a 328i sport. The one i have is an April 98 car wh...

Cheers. Just spoke to a garage in Kent who specialise in restoring these and they are very keen to get their hands on it. It has the early "Neue Klasse" style front end which is fairly rare.
Its gone way passed saving but would be useful for spares to keep others on the road.
Good find..

Thanks for all your suggestions guys..the problem has now been solved!! I stripped it all down today and cleaned everything up. I traced the fault to the N/S/F sensor so replaced that and the O/S/F sensor as well. The car now brakes perfectly with no juddering!! I really like E30's they are a doddle...
