defiantley not a wheel bearing its coming from engine bay and definately not the diff thank god, is there a possiblity that its something to do wiht the clutch at all though i mean, im having continuou problems with the cluttch hydraulic system, i converted the car to a manual and fitted everything ...

M42 engine 318is

around 3k horrible whining noise starts at 4k dissapears at 4k any ideas anyone i put this down to thurst bearing on its way out although quite unsure...?

i rarely do motorway miles, its a bit of a giggle though at the minute its jsut a curiosty question, untill i do it im just telling tall tales. i wanna take the box on there at the minutue off soon anyway to give it a clean and change clutch and thrust bearing

expansion tank is situated in the radiator? basicaly when i put the engine in my turing.. filled it with water on my drive, lef to get to temperature, then bleed teh air out untill non bubbly water comes out of bleed valve then keep water topped up whilst screwing nipple back up..? do you reccomend ...

Right, starting to become a pain in my tetther end... every so many miles i am having to bleed my coolant system, and everytime there is alot of Steam/hot air produced i am doing it porpley everytime i know this as my boss has already done it to ym car twice and ive done it three times, whats the ca...

IIRc, they in turn are golf fitment? and are fairly rare and worth alotta mullah.. had a golf mk2 come into work wiht a set on .. teh wheels were worth more than the car..

basicaly i have a spare m40 manual gearbox hanging around, in great condition, its off a 1.6, whats the chances of it fitting to my m42 engine?

well found out what had happened, and to jsut make brians ego even larger:P( only joking mucker) it was down to a dodgey alarm install the wireing was a shambles rewired alot of the wires now works. cheers for your help

where do i find it.. basically long story short.. my car.. after cat.. my enigne pre cat.. mot time.. need a letter sent form my boss ( garage owner) to mister mot man.. to say my cars able to be tested for pre cat emmission checks.. the owner of the car i got the engine from isnt answering his fone...

the actual switch lights up when u stick teh lights on jsut not makeing hazadds work!!! its agtgrivating me now.. i may be going to the mk2 golf gti out back and rippping the WORKING switch from that.!! im not paying Ã‚£35 form bmw for a stupid switch..!!

i have no idea wat they came off of.. all i knwo is it was an E30 m3, this is because my boss made a custom inlet for a supercharger conversion for one a while ago now.. ive "Aquired them".. so jsut cruous as to a prick really and will be modifying to fitmy is engine

the car is stnadard as far as alarms are concerned.. repalaced teh hazard switch with a working hazard and still nothing when the hazard is in the on postion the indicators dont work.. obviously.

ill check at work tomrow for power as my cars now been driven off ( trade plates ) to my work place

nope fuse 24 is fine.. 15amp and not broken or nothing i replaced incae it was faulty and still nothing

any mroe input guys.. really want this fixed im stumped

i took the connecotr off and hte oil light went out and stayed out..

i used 10w 40 oil aswell? is this.. a problem? i cnt make head to tail fo the reccomended stuff in the owners manual its a M42 is engine

also was an automtic before with an oil cooler in the rad...??? possible problems?
