Re: e39 Buying Guide

If it's an auto leave it in 'D' and make sure it goes through ALL the gears, and also in Steptronic, and ensure it doesn't jerk into gear. Also try moving off on a slight hill to test if it jerks into gear when moving off. Check to ensure the ABS/Traction lights don't stay on as it can get pretty ex...

Re: Bizarre M52 cooling system problem

Update: found the pipe at fault, it was the one connected to the connection from the engine block, however it was a bit more complicated. The pipe coming off the block led to a T-pipe that went off to the LPG system, so it's the piece added by the LPG installed that had failed. This wasn't therefore...

Re: Bizarre M52 cooling system problem

Just been reading this thread as i've had a similar problem as mentioned by the OP, but mine has got worse. Water is leaking out somewhere near the back of the block. Is there a a pipe that could split at the back of the block (near the bulk-head)? Problem started when i took the car (M52 B28 E39) f...

If you want the looks then it has to be 9J all round.

Staggered for me doesn't work unless you're using splitties or seriously wide rears.

I want that kind of bass in the cabby :D Never going to happen. The sunny (and many other cars) was just transport for my bass at the time, and worked well because it was a hatch. Shame about the LPG filler, though I take your point about having to bend down for one mounted more discreetly.Would it be possible to mod the wing so it is hidden behind a flap? Hi, Just wondering how much the front and rear cupholders (or storage box for the rear) will be for an E39 (1998 - prefacelift if it makes any difference).
