A Bristol registration if I'm not mistaken :) As said it sure is a project and a half, but ask yourself why you would be restoring it, that will easily see £5k+ once all is said and done. If your doing it to keep for ever and you have some attachment to it the go for it, but to get anywhere near you...

Interesting, but how many spelling errors can you get in one advert? And is it just armoured glass or bullet proof body panels as well?

I've never thought E90's were pretty, E92's were a little more so. Would love an F30 when they get more affordable.
Do the F30's have any serious issues yet?

Also worth fitting a quality oem brand rather than the slightly cheaper tat.
E30 M3 bushes were about £31 for the pair from BMW a while ago, maybe a little bit more now, but for £31 it's not worth skimping a few £ now to be redoing them in 3 months time

Re: About to weld up my shitter. Advice please
Good on you for taking it on and not scrapping it!
Do it one plate at a time
Practice on some off cuts first. Don't get put off when you start welding the car.
As important as the welding is rust proofing after, including waxoyling it
Looking forward to the resto thread

Is this a wind up? I thought you were part of the BMW race team and knew everything? Seriously though, will it matter with that F1 technology your packing into the M50/M52 B90? Surely you'll be lapping the rest of pack anyway? You are a true legend and I only wish I knew 1% of your valuable knowledg...

£2k daily hack - What would you choose?
Pretty soon I will be increasing mileage somewhat doing a 70 mile a day round trip so will be looking for something a bit more economic and reliable. My main thought at the moment is a Mk4 golf either TDi or a GT TDi 130 if I can find one with lowish (90k miles or less) on a 2000 or later plate. The...

Re: Steering Rack for M3
E36 m3 rack is completely pointless. It has the same ratio as the standard e36 rack, it just has less turns because it has less lock as there is a spacer / washer between the tiered and rack. And breakers wil charge you £60 for one because it's from an m3, while standard e36 racks can be had for £2...

Clutch cylinders
I'm thinking the clutch master cylinder is starting to show its age on my 325, if I hold the clutch for more that a few seconds (like parking in tight gaps etc) it starts to bite very near the bottom (normal place for mine is about 1/4 off the floor) To me this feels like M/C seals, but what symptom...

Maybe diff or bearings, are you sure backplates aren't touching the discs?
You "Could" use some axle stands and very gently run it in gear while listening for the diff/ wheel bearings etc.
YOU DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!
