E30 Zone

Hey guys, random question.. I have a nice 205 GTI Mi16 in rare sceronto green..I miss RWD too much thou so does anyone fancy swapping it for an e30 325 3 door? Mine has plenty of tax and test and in perfect running order..milage is 100k on the chassis and 80k on the engine and box which is very low ...

yea i agree, i prefer the straight 6..would a 325 be cheaper than a 328 to but in?

Hey, i have a 318is and looking to drop a faster engine in over the summer, but not sure on the best engine to go for..

what do people think the best engine to go for is?

I dont wanna spend big, so just the most performance for the lowest cost sorta thing??

in regards to the spacers, i got them from ebay. They were brand new and bolt on type, but they were for a mk2 golf, which meant i had to get the centres machined out to the right diameter. It only cost an extra Ã‚£5, think they do them for e30 but they didnt have any in stock! and it goes quite wel...

that lip is from my old nissan 200sx s14, had to chop the ends off but other thatn that it fits on well. I like it cos if it cathces on anything it just bends so it never gets damaged

the wheels are keskin KT1, 16x 9j all round with 20mm spacers

and yes the 'T' stands for turbo!

hey again, just got the dyno results for my final setup... initially at 10psi it was making 210bhp at the wheels, but unfortunately it was pinking at top end. yea i think its an ok job on the silvia, but the guy that fit mine said its a bit harder on the e30 as the bake lines are seperated in a funny way and its hard not to affect the front ones or something? I cant remeber exactly what he said, but yea its an awsome thing to have!

it is indeed the driftworks one! as for fitting it, i didnt fancy messing with the brake lines myself, so i took it to my local genius. He did a really good job, with nice welding and all the proper lines. I think its worth it for something like this as it takes alot of stress so i wouldnt wanna bod...

oh forgot to mension, was quit chuffed the other night, even driving midly due to mapping not finished, i still managed to pull away from a fiat coupe 20v turbo and a 330 e46, and its only on 5psi too

yea its finally coming together now! Cant wait for it to be mapped anf finished now! The injectors are spot on cheers! Had trouble getting them all to fire but it was an ecu settup issue in the end, just had to change one setting and it fired straight up :) I have always been looking out for turbo's...

yea same! I have found a guy in silverstone who is sh*t hot, he used to work for option motorsport, and now he is freelance. He is one of the few guys that will genuinly help you out the best he can even on sundays! If anyone is close to silverstone a highly recommend him!

sure! Im not the most well off person ever, which is why this project has stretched my limits a little! The turbo and intercooler themselves are the cheaper parts of doing the job im afraid. i was a little worried about it blocking the rad, but as it get narrower towards the top, the rad has a good 7 inches or so on the left side (in the top pic) and some air should still pass through the intercooler, so im hoping thats enough. Ive given her a good test with 5psi and there is no problem...

Now this is done i can book it back in for the last part of the rollin...

yea i did notice that myself, it may be the case of the next rendering program i put it on will fix it, as most of the shape can be defined by the shading, illl have a play and will re post when its finilised

im pretty sure i can save it to one of those file types. Ill post back up on here when ive added a few finishing touches. Does the model need a floor or cvan it be a hollow shell? And do you create the colours and textures at your end, or do i have to do that here??

the prgram i used to make the model itself is called alias studio tools 13.5, and the file is just called alias.wire i think as it is youl need alias yourself to open it, but i know there is a way to save it in a different format. What format would you need?? not really sure what a 3d printer is no!...

sounds pretty swish! i take it you would just want the wire file for that and and not need any shaders/materials?

should be finished (rendered properly) in a week or so, but the actual wire model is finished already. What would you be using it for mate?
