Hi, I see that the firefly has re-kindled the other thread relating to this problem. Since my last posting I've done the following. 1. Checked the FPR for it sucking fuel through the diaphragm. Its isn't. 2. Crimped the return hose to improve the pressure. No difference 3. Disassembled the throttle ...

The idle isn't that bad really. It doesn't seem to hunt so much as sometimes it periodically dips for less than a second. This causes it to feel as though its not that smooth, but it definitely doesn't hunt. The idle sits at about 600 all the time apart from these dips which don'r even register on t...

Hi, Thanks a million for your replies. I think I'm gonna check the FPR first as that was next on my list and seems simple enough to diagnose, so thanks for that Brian. As for the cylinder head to inlet manifild, I certainly haven't noticed any whistling or squaling sounds but if the FPR doesn't prov...

Constant speed juddering woes

Hi My 325i sport has been suffering with this common fault of juddering when kept at a constant speed and rpm. I seem to notice it the most when held at 40mph and 2000rpm. I also notice it when accelerating very gently up to speed. I have replaced numerous parts as below with brand new items: - Dist...

Hi, Yeah I have done that and the only noise I can hear is a faint noise from the handbrake shoes inside the drum part of the disc. Based on this I drove along and when the noise was happening I pulled up the handbrake gently to see if it affected the noise. It didn't. The only thing that I'm thnkin...

Hi, I have had the rear wheel off and checked out most of whats in there. The dust shield doesn't seem to be in contact with the disc and the pads and disc seem fine. The noise is still present and I'm concerned that it might be a wheel bearing but I really don't think it is as the noise isn't intru...

Hi, I was just wondering if you did actually find a solution to this noise. I have a similar thing. Its coming from the rear passenger side. It is unaffected by braking or clutching in and out. It is only motion based i.e. as the car speeds up so the noise increases. I also find that it is affected ...

Thanks Fugazi. I was trying to fit a deep socket over the sensor and was having no joy. That clarifies it for me.

Cheers

Fitting Blue Temperature Sensor

Hi, I'm new to e30's. I'm carrying out some work on my '89 325i sport. I'm trying to eliminate this problem of jerkiness under light acceleration at around 40mph. One of the things on my list to change is the blue temperature sensor. It seems to be nestled in such a way as to prevent access with a s...
