Cyl. Head Tightening Torque
I've got to remove the head from my M20B20 next weekend and was wondering if anyone has or could point me in the right direction to the data for the head tightening sequence and tourque settings. Any info would be much appriciated. Also, do the head bolts need replacing?

Re: 1 Car, 2 Oil filters
Yeah. The Air Con worked quite well the last time I drove it, but that was Oct '07. Other projects and the price of fuel never gave me the incentive to put it back on the road, but I didn't want to sell it. They seem to be making a comeback so it's time for me to put it back to it's former glory.

Re: 1 Car, 2 Oil filters
It's the Air Con receiver. There's 2 reasons I now know this. 1. Most of you think it is and 2. Upon further investigation it says it is on the side of it. I'm ashamed!

Re: 1 Car, 2 Oil filters
No remote filter ever fitted by BMW! Other candidates are the drier that's part of an air con system, or a charcoal canister that's part of emissions equipment. Both relatively rare to find on an E30. It has got Air Con and could be a dryer now it's been mentioned a couple of times. I'll have anoth...

Re: 1 Car, 2 Oil filters
When I got the car a mate of mine caught a high kerb and twatted the front valance on the o/s corner, when I got a replacement and told the fella what happened he commented that I was lucky to have not lost the oil. I didn't take much notice at the time. The car has been off road since Nov 2007 and ...

1 Car, 2 Oil filters
Just done the sump gasket on my M20 today and changed the engine mounted filter and noticed the remote one on the oil cooler side above the o/s brake duct which looks close to rotting through. Is this the same filter as the engine filter as I can't seem to find one listed anywhere?

Re: Central Locking
I've just noticed if when I lock and unlock the car I can hear a relay switching. Does this mean the ecu is working but there is another problem ?

Re: Red/Black Wire / Central Locking!
If you look in your drivers side door shut there is a multiplug that connects the door wiring loom to the cars main loom and to the central locking ecu. The plan is to hardwire the black/red wires to one another and bypass the multiplug. I'm having same problem as well but mine had already been done.

Re: Central Locking
Had a quick look this morning and it appears the Red/Black wire mod has already been done. Could it be the Control Unit at fault ?

Central Locking
My Central Locking on my Touring decided to give up this evening. Is there anything common that I can investigate or is it going to be a pig. Thanks.

Re: Interior pics
I think it is as it was already lowered when my mate bought it and that is about the only reciept we couldn't find in the history of it. I think if it was any more than 40 mm the wheels would dissapear up in the arches and I'd have no sump !

My '91 320i Touring
http://img254.imageshack.us/img254/5951/bmw1tl8.jpg [/img] Just got this gem a couple of weeks ago as I p/x'ed it with a mate of mine for an Escort GTi I bought because a got cheesed off looking for a decent touring. It has been lowered 40mm, got an M-Tech leather steering wheel and gearknob, and t...
