M20 2.5 Idle Problems
Hi everyone. I've just put in a replacement long block into my 325. The replacement was an early high compression lump, and the original was a later low compression lump. I had to transfere the crank position sensor pulley, the cam covers, the injector wiring, the injectors and the oil level sensor,...

Re: 2.5 m50, converted to a 2.8 m52 Problems/Differences
I wouldn't mind having Vanos on there, but if its going to cause difficulties with wiring etc it might be easier to remove it, if possible lol.

2.5 m50, converted to a 2.8 m52 Problems/Differences
Hi, this maybe a little off topic considering its in a e34, but I thought the genius on this website might e able to lend a hand, and the info might be useful to other people doing e30 conversions. My brother has an e34 525 non vanos and the head gasket has gone. I'm considering putting in a 2.8 m52...

Re:
Awesome, I wouldn't be 2 worried about your input shaft rattle though, all my e30's did it to some degree and by contrast yours is quite quiet. But if your transmission is showing other signs of wear then maybe it is time to recondition it. In theory it would be an investment on a dogleg gearbox as ...

I was looking at the weather forecast for 2nite. Although its about as sunny as the inside of my closet, rain like tridents scorn and wind that was tearing the carwash apart on the polegate roundabout last night, the forecast isn't too bad. It appears to be clearing up later on. http://www.metoffice...

Re: Rattle on Idle from Gearbox
This is the point where I claim that I'm not some boy racer bum and likes to be able to hear the subtle whispers of a nicely running M20. But hey its a 20yr old rocket ship and it cost me £500, but seems to leave everything else standing for some reason. Ah well. I suppose it'll have to wait until...

Re: Rattle on Idle from Gearbox
Cheers mate, I'm sure I heard someone say that about my 530i when I had it and it went from 200k up to 270k like it. Its just damn annoying when I stop having this rattle going on. IS there anything I can do about it, short of taking off the gearbox and having it reconned?

Rattle on Idle from Gearbox
When the car is started on Idle, in Neutrol, with the clutch released there is a rattle from around the gearbox area. It just sits there making this god awful hollow rattle. When you depress the clutch the rattle dissappeares immediately. Is this a rattle from the Input shaft? I had the same sort of...

Re: engine swap gone tits up!
Well from what u described that sounds like a way of dumping a massive undefined amount of fuel directly into the inlet manifold via some sort of switch. It'll run massively rich. Maybe some dodgy backfire or flame kit. Doesn't sound like anything I've seen. Fuel is injected via the injectors. How e...

Did the pre-facelift 2.7 not have a throttle position sensor
doubt it was on carbs or a full MAF setup is it?

Re: engine swap gone tits up!
Well if its going upo to the throttle body it'll either be the throttle position sensor or the Idle control Valve. Can't think of much else going up to there.
Anyone else got any other ideas?

Re: Why is the throttle body heated?
I disconnected mine on my 325 4dr with the intent of getting coldest possible intake using a ram air kit and some mods. Never had any problems with it. Just joined the two pipes together with some gas piping and two jubalee clips.

White would be outstanding, but hard to keep clean. Beige might look a bit odd, but would be maintainable and match the interior. U 2 fussed about the numberplates being in the pics or shall i edit them out?
