my old s50 e30 m3
People might remember my s50 m3 i built, i did a write up on here a few years back does anyone know if the car still exists or where it is and who owns it ? it was on f253upo plate thanks

I havent been on here for years does anyone know who owns this car now ? wish i still had it
had it featured in performance BMW which some of you might have seen, i hope its still on the road, bad financial times made me sell it plus moving abroad !

my e30 m3 with s50 b30 is fine a little bit heavier but i really dont notice the difference plus it goes like stink i prefer it alot more than my old m3 with the standard s14, i am sure alot of people wont agree though

solved the problem many thanks to ian again, i did not have the road speed signal wired up, had to run a wire from the green plug at the back of the cluster (cruise control output) to the blk/wht wire from the ecu to tell the ecu what speed the car is travelling at

i have tried the hycote belt slip stuff does not work, wd40 works but it starts squeaking after 20 seconds of spraying it, tried another new belt and that hasnt worked, the tensioner on my car is an offset pulley with the bolt that goes through, it only fixes in one place as it has a small lug on it...

i have an 93 850ci manual that i picked up last month nice looking car but an electrical knightmare been tryin to get a new cluster and ekm module as its packed up
(no hope cannot get one anywhere ) and the module is £850 from bmw

tried the set of facelift clocks i had, took the car for a good long run was fine until i took it along the motorway for a distance then the problem kicked in again (runnning lumpy on tick over ) can anyone tell which wire from the s50 ecu needs to be connected to the cluster and where on the cluste...

sorry to hi jack this thread i have a similar prob what colour is the wire from the back of the cluster and which wire does it connect to in the dme ? i am running e30 m3 clocks i have an old sheet telling me to connect a blk/wht wire to 2 pin green plug ! doesnt sound right to me, i wrote another t...

s50 conversions are not easy so much time went into trying to solve problems on the one i did it took me a year with lots of cuts bruises and swearing, well worth it in the end though, trouble is i think it gets addictive and quite fancy doing another project, i must be

yeah i am using e30 m3 clocks and the previous ones i had were the same, i have a set of facelift 325i clocks i will give them a try and post what happens thanks

i got mine from fleabay and used on my s50 conversion no problems at all keeps the car very cool, just make sure you connect the wires round the right way otherwise it will push cold air away from the rad ( its what i did first time i fitted it and i could not work out why it wasnt keeping the engin...

yeah my problem is exactly the same penton08 i have changed the clocks as the last set i had were dodgy, i have heard of speed signal problems before can anyone help ? sounds like i might have not connected a wire somewhere thanks

had the fault codes read no faults showing, recently the car is fine when i first drive it but when it is driven at a steady speed over distance the fault comes back, could it be a the maf or a lambda sensor any ideas anyone ?

any ideas on this i am at the end of my tether with it, the fan belt squeaks but only when the coolant system is filled up, if not it does not squeak, i have changed the belt, all the pulleys, power steering pump and the water pump but it still squeaks, if i spray wd40 onto the belt it stops for 30 ...

i went with e36 m3 rad goes straight in place, oil cooler mounts straight to the bottom and take the blanking cap out and use a fan temp switch to run an electric fan, (i dont know if the e28 rad has a blanking cap ?)

the screen i fitted was from a chrome bumper 320i coupe, the m3 had had a new scuttle fitted and it was bare metal (apart from paint) around where the windscreen fits in, i would have liked to of used an e30 m3 seal but i could not get hold of one at that time, so a friend who works for a windscreen...

i fitted a normal e30 screen into an e30 m3, so i would imagine the other way round would work, and that was using a mondeo or fiesta rubber because on the e30 m3 it is bonded

just bought a 1993 850ci manual (because it was cheap) really original car the only thing is none of the gauges work i.e fuel rev counter temp gauge,and the mid (digital mileage display) the cluster lights up and all the other lights work i.e eml abs and asc, i have hunted all over the net and canno...

the trouble i had with tracing the history on my m3 years ago is bmw only hold information on there system for 10 years otherwise they have to look into their archive

if you want service history you can phone bmw gb customer services they will give you a number which you can speak to someone about where the car has been serviced in its life and where , it is a number which costs £1 a min i think , customer services used to give the information for free years ago ...

i used the s50 original manifold , but it does need modding on the pipe nearest the bulkhead otherwise it will hit the bulkhead and will not clear the anti roll bar giving vibration through the body , that is the cheapest way , like uwem3 i would not spend 1200 on a manifold seeing that only one pip...
