Re: M Tech2 (Olive) Baur
Foglights where standard on 323i, 325i and 325iX. Not just on the 325i cabriolet, any E30 with these engines came with foglights. An M-tech kit was only fitted FACTORY-off if it was either a 318iS or 325i. Off course you could order M-Tech II on your 316i, but this was than fitted by your BMW-dealer...

Re: M Tech2 (Olive) Baur
The car your talking about is the B48645, in Hennared. This wasn't a regular colour (a so called "Sonderlackierung"), so this bodykit was probably ordered when new. What also counts for it, is that it lacks foglights, which were standard on 325i's. But because this kit couldn't be ordered on other E...

Re: M3 baur?
This conversion (to Baur cabriolet) was done in 1988. And as with most things, "newer is beter", so the owner (either Michael or Andreas Baur I presume) wanted the new rearlights in his M3. BMW never accepted the M3 to be build as a Baur cabriolet, so there's only one. Sold in 1990 via "Auto Motor S...

The description of the conversion is completely wrong. But to answer your question; if a factory can produce complete cars, how hard would it be to replace the rearlights

I don't think I have ever seen one of those Si http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h112/diable666/Funnies/Baur_zps2348671e.jpg My god, they lost the plot with that one!!! They (BMW) wouldn't let Baur build it on base of the coupe. They did a prototype, but that was destroyed on "request" of BMW. @B7:...

Re: Rear screen cracked
It's easy to take the rear-roof of a Baur. I did this every winter, when I placed my hardtop.
But I doubt if replacing the window only is the right solution. For about 250-300 pound you can replace the fabric with it. If you do it yourself, which is much easier than on a normal cab.

Hi Alex,
I bought mine some years ago at www.cabrio.de. It costed (complete, so front+rear) about €500,-. I did place it myself (you only get the fabric, the window already in place).

I've got one. You first have to take off the softtop and then place the hardtop. There where about 200-250 made.

Hi Ingo,
At the moment I don't have the possibility to make a picture of it, but there are two clamps fitted on the roofpanel.
The system is interchangeable, and it is an upgrade to use the later system.

The early system was used on cars till Baur-number B42265. What is the number of your car?
If it is an early bird, it should have this system:

The only thing Baur changed was the roof-part. No further stiffening needed.

The white parts are from the BMW-factory, the Baur-parts are welded on to the car.
