i heard the m10 bottom end was so touch that bmw used the basic design structure for a base for its 80's turbo f1 engines

seriously i know a guy who worked at a merc dealer in the late 90s to mid 00's and this era clk had some serious issues with quality in an era where merc tried to maximise profit, he told me they scrimped on paint and they were getting rust bubbles coming through on area where moisture collected

i had my 320i converted to 2.5 and yeah its a little more economical as i dont have to rev the engine much compared to the 320, i've retained the 4.1 diff so higher gearing isnt a cause for the mpg
seems to have a much greater umph of torque at the bottom end which suits my lazy driving style

i did it the wrong way for an old IS that i had, bought wheelarch reapir panels to get it looking like new, then proceeded to strip it and found terminal rot high up in the bulkhead where it meets the inner wings

yeah but make sure you pull out all the carpets and boot trim to see what horrors maybe lurking in the boot, floors and bulkhead before you do part with your hard earned cash, give it a really thorough inspection!

dont pre facelifts have higher wheelarches so therefore the wheel will sit lower in the arch in comaprison to later models on a similar drop??

i'd try classic car mart as you get a lot of mint low miler late 70s to 80s future classics in it, tbh if you stick a 4dr for £3500 on here most members will know you can get a really nice cabby or genuine sport for that kind of money there will be someone who wants your car somewhere as an apprecia...

best mod for a 318IS is to take out the m42 16 valve engine and lower chuck norris into its place, then your I.S will be pretty tough

for £500-£800 theres some seriosly nice e34's most e30's around that price nowadays are either rusty or lumbered with m40s, a 194bhp exec wagon for that kind of money isnt too shabby
