I have just noticed on BMW EPC that they are listing an E30 325e, does anyone know anything about these. they list them as lhd and rhd manual and auto built between 86-87? is this an e30 eta? I also noticed that the M20 engine is exclusive to this model. cheers, james.

Gasgas, just out of interest, out of an 8 hour day, how much time on average does an engineer spend on "paid for" work? So for instance, if the enginers goes off for maccydees, or spends an inordinate time in the "office", are we paying the £150-200 an hour for this time? Wont quote you of course...

Mine always goes to the BMW dealer! The prices are very reasonable! (free) 8)

But we do get tons of E30's in for servicing and repairs, we had a guy with an 89 318i 4 door pay nearly £2k for a complete exhaust, steering rack and an inspection 2! and that was at 4+!

BMW GB have got 3 in stock £702.13 + VAT This is exchange so will need your old rack. If you can travel to Oxford i could offer you a 10% discount off this price (£742 inc VAT) part number 32.13.1.095.577 (unless youve got an M roadster which are different)

The E3 you describe certainly brings back some memories, it has the fuel filler hidden behind the rear numberplate if i remember rightly. When i was a nipper my dad used to tow a caravan with it and once got upto 130mph (nutter! ) and swears that it was far better than his e46 330Ci!
