Thanks - Does anyone have the URL for an online diagram of the manifold & gasket. My local garage said there are two gaskets, an upper & lower ??
Cheers

Re: 318i cab 1994 ticking noise when accelerating
Found out what the noise is - leaking exaust manifold. The car is suffering from lack of use in the past. Some years it has only done a few hundred miles. I've put 1000 miles on her in the last month - all with a big grin on my face and I'm running into lack of use problems. The sticky roof is getti...

318i cab 1994 ticking noise when accelerating
Hi, Car started to tick this morning under acceleration. The oil was changed only last week. It's only done a genuine 41k & just has its 4th service. I think it may be a tappet sticking. Should I ignore it as the engine can't be worn & hope it sorts itself out or give it another oil change ? The car...

Hi, Found out what went bang; I forgot to tighten up the lid nuts on the right hand side, DOH! :o: The lid was flapping around against the hinge. This is why it closed without catching ! Anyway live & learn. So I've tighened it up & guess what, back to square one. Will try out Franks idea at the wee...

Re:
Thanks, I will give this a try tonight when I get home from work. I know the hoop thats rubbing will move forward, tried that this morning, I was VERY careful. What does it mean if the base of the hood does or doesn't move when the next hoop is pushed?

Thanks alot, Here's this picture, the lid has been rubbing on the hood for years and is slowly destroying the hood material. The hood is not fully opening on this side. Apart from this mark the hood is in excellent shape & this spoils the car, especially as she has only covered 41,000 miles ! What c...

Re: Convertible - Lid is catching on hood frame
Hi,
Sorry, its electric, rubs on the leading edge near the catches, has worn about 6 inches of the hood frame material and left a nasty grove in the lid. I'll try & get some pics tohight.
Cheers

Convertible - Lid is catching on hood frame
Hi Everyone,
The lid on my '94 318i cabriolet is catching on the hood frame when the hood either is raised or closed, from the mark on the lid it has been doing this for years as the lid is badly scratched.
Does anyone know how to adjust the lid / frame?
Any help much appreciated !
Cheers

Re: Want to retro fit OBC in 318. But there seems 2 b two ty
Many thanks, Can I buy this 'code plug' from BMW & fit it, or do I need to wait until I find an OBC with the correct one?

Want to retro fit OBC in 318. But there seems 2 b two types?
Just purchased excellent red 94 318i cab with only 40k. Want to add the OBC. There seems to be 2 types, the 13 button (From the 320/325) or the 6 button. I've read the article on this site on how to fit it. Has any one actually put the 13 button one in a 318 or fitted the 6 button one. Cheers
