Re: E21 Info
I'll never scrap it - it's got far too much sentimental value for him & I've seen rustier 5 year old cars on the road! Well I'm trying it out on fleabay & someone's bid the starting price already with 8 days left so hopefully it will go to a good home (no reserve on it). 35 watchers within 24hrs as ...

Re: E21 Info
Thanks for all the comments so far chaps. I am tempted to look abroad, as Rav335uk suggested earlier, because I found this identical model on Germany's Ebay - only differences I can tell is that it's a manual & doesn't have the bonus of a small dent in the bonnet edge (2510 Euros with 12hrs to go)! ...

Re: E21 Info
I won't get his hopes up just yet as it's not perfect. I thought it was just the 323 manual that was popular wasn't it? It's usually the manual box, biggest engine & biggest spec models that fetch the most. Early age to have a metallic paint as well isn't it? Hi Alex - it's a 320, not a 320i (are yo...

Re: E21 Info
1982 320 auto coupe, metallic light green (opalgrund? I think it said on the sticker). From what I've gathered already: 52,500 miles (last 20 yrs Mots, some recent bills) & totally original throughout No previous owners (he bought it from new & I think he was upset when I had to drive it away at the...

E21 Info
Does anyone know of an E21 forum anywhere? The reason I got into E30s was partly because my Grandad had an E21 & he needs to sell his now as he can't drive anymore (he is 90 now so fair dues!). I know this type of car will not appeal to the younger crowd but I said I'd sort it out for him so any adv...

Also, check the coolant level sensor is screwed up tight in the expansion tank & is sealing ok. It most probably isn't this but best just to check. I had a problem in the past where the sensor would go to a certain tautness then slip on the thread as the thread was knackered on the expansion tank (u...

Hi mate, I don't know if I'm being thick or not but it sounds like the problem is definately in the viscous area. The viscous should spin the whole time - it should NEVER stop if the engine is switched on. This is because the viscous is attached to the water pump which is driven by the belt that goe...

Radiator Question
Merry Xmas to one & all. I have a 1988 325i auto (Touring) with aircon. I need a radiator to get me out of the sh*t until I find the right one. I know the oe auto a/c rads in the 320i & 325i (Coupes, Saloons & Tourings) are all the same & are a bit taller & have the rhs switch hole but I can't find ...

Re: Dead Clutch?
Did you move because my Mother-In-Law moved there 2 years ago - lol!! I thought you were in London though. I live in Grinny but work in SE London near Catford/Lewisham. Give us a shout if you need any bits though (yes, get a spare flywheel in case & if it is needed then remember to get it resurfaced...

Re: Dead Clutch?
Strange - sounds like 2 issues to me. This is just a wild guess but the starting issue sounds like a tooth has been chewed off the flywheel so starter isn't engaging. Does the clutch slip the same in second & third gear as well as first - I'm thinking possibly just the clutch fork might be bent? It ...
