hey folks - just picked up a set of BBS's and a lowering kit for the touring and decided to take a few pics of the cars (the MR2 is supposed to be off road for the summer - but couldn't resist taking it for a wee run). - just noticed that the sills on the touring are a bit brown - its just mud tho, ...

rust killed it - i started to buy up parts to repair her but it was an uphill struggle so i ended up breaking her for spares. still have a tech 1 front and sideskirts and some other bits and pieces. the body kit was hiding all kinds of horrors -> http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/ScottLand/BMW/oh_...

Old Skool'er returns

hey folks. I've been gone a while but now i'm back - picked up a 'new' e30 today. 318i touring - im going to use it as a second car and for commuting etc as i still have my MR2 for the summer months. the wee touring is *MINT* - has done 133k miles but is like new inside and out. no rust whatsoever! ...

to be honest mate, the 318 isn't really a very sought after e30- especially a 4 door. I doubt you'd be able to get more than Ԛ£500. If it had a lot of Mtech extras etc or was really mint then maybe it could go for nearer 800-900 but most folk are really only after the sport models like the 318i...

mtech 1 all the way!!!! i really miss mine now! sadly like most of them the rust was terminal. oh and i'm sure i read somewhere that when Autocar tested the cars the 'tec1 was the faster of the two to 60 but slightly slower at the top end.

nah.... stick with a performance panel filter guys or you will be more likely to lose power. BMW didn't spend all that money designing it for nothing. There isn't really anywhere good under the bonnet of an e30 to get a cold air feed through (unless you remove a headlight or grille etc)

dunno if that particular one is any good but you can get a short shift cheap by using BMW Z3 parts from the main dealer. I had that setup on my e30s and it made a huge difference.

The part numbers etc are listed in the 'articles' section btw

bad idle is usually down to air leaks after the airflow meter. i had this problem on my 320i and my sport. i replaced the big rubber boot that joins the airflow meter to the throttle body and this solved the problem both times. If its been chipped you'll find the car idles at higher revs than normal...
