Re:

Another vote for the 318iS.

Be careful though, I'm going back to one after owning an e39 530d Sport, and they certainly show their age, even mint ones. For a daily driver, I'd recommend an e34 525i Sport, personally.

Questions to ask before viewing/buying an E30 318iS?

Hi folks, Looking for a few pointers. About 2 years ago, I bought my first BMW, an e30 318iS from BobS on this forum. It was a truly fantastic car and I loved using it, but my circumstances changed and I needed to do about 40000 miles a year, so I replaced it with a 530d Sport. Anyway, that's gone, ...

Re: Fuel Leak (end of filler hose)

1. There was a plastic insert between the pipe and the tank!
2. You dont live in Ireland, they're useless, but I'll give them a go.
3. Yeah I'm thinking I'll drop it out and give it a full respray. I'm pretty sure it's just the hose!

Fuel Leak (end of filler hose)

Hey Folks, My mother complained of a petrol smell after I filled up the other night, so I went to check, and sure enough there was a fair bit of fuel under the car. Looks like whoever fitted the pipe before didnt do it properly, and it in now destroyed. I've found the part I need to replace it: http...

Re: Got my IS

I'd definitely chip the iS. My car idles absolutely perfectly and has power throughout the rev range.

Had no problem sticking with a mint 104k sport the other day from 40-120. We were both surprised.

But most of all - just enjoy the car, I only get to bring mine out at the weekends :(

Re: Got my IS

Welcome to the Black iS club man!

Chip the car and you'll see a huge increase in improvement. Mine can stick with a 325i Sport to 120 anyway (tested on private test track ;) )

1990 BMW 318is - todays purchase!

Some may have seen my previous thread about buying a 318is. Turned out that it was a cat C write off repaired, so I left that. Took a chance and PM'd Bob_S and asked him if he was selling his. Appeared he was willing to sell! It's a 1990 BMW 318is (this ones HPI clear ;) ) Left my house in Dublin at...

Re: My first E30 - 91 Black BMW 318is

The car has Champiro GT tyres on the front and what look like Goodyear Eagle F1s on the back...

I know the Eagles are highly recommended and they still have half decent tread on them so thats ok. What are the Champiro's like and what should I swap them with when they wear out (heading that way)?
