So the only tricky part is getting the nut undone?

How much is a front wheel bearing assembly? Ԛ£Ã”šÃ‚£?

I want to do one of mine as it rumbles a bit on LH corners, but dont want to make a mess of it..

You could take the front wheels off and measure the run-out of the discs with a guage. Last time I put new discs on I spent ages sanding and cleaning the corrosion from the hub where the disc is bolted to.

Worth it though, ended up with no run-out and improved brakes.
hope this helps?

I agree, its depressing looking at so many cars that are hiding so many problems, and the owners honestly believe that FSH means having MOST of the MOTS and a service book that covers it for the first 80,000miles only... Ask them about how often they flushed the coolant to prevent a cracked head and...

I doubt they will make much difference, aircooled VWs have some serious oil starvation problems due to surge and even the VW tuners reckon that windage trays are mostly a hinderance for oil returning to the sump where its needed. As for a fine oil mist being a problem - 2 stroke engines rely entirel...

it shouldnt matter if its controlled by a thermostat, or only switched on if the engine starts to get hotter than you want.

knackered radiator cap

header/expansion tank pressure relief cap actually. Anyone had one of these break? Mine seems to have a broken black plastic ring around the inside of the cap - not sure how ive done it but it doesnt seem to seal very well anymore and the coolant system starts to loose pressure when the engine gets ...

I know what you mean about interpreting them, an increase in peak power at the expense of a lot of torque at lower engine speeds isnt really the way to go. I also know that different dynos give very different results and operators often give an estimated output at the crank, which is open to debate....

I tried to do a seat swap last night in a spare 15 minutes but didnt have time to work out how to swap the mechanisms.

How do you do this? Is it striaght forward?

Ive done this to my 320, for the same reasons as you. you need front struts off a 318is or 325sport. You can use your original calipers and disks as theyre the same. if you dont have ABS you can remove the wheel speed sensors. Assuming the struts are in good condition and dont have lowering springs ...

Ive seen a lot of debate over sump senders before. It seems that the sump oil temperature is a lot cooler than the rest - but if youre just looking to detect a shift in temperature (to warn of heat problems) then the sump method is prob. easiest. Widge, Im guessing thats a 2.5 youve got at the mo? Is it standard or an upgraded motor?

Are there different stages of Zone chips, or was this one a custom made mapping?

I dont suppose anyone has a before and after dyno printout?

Who does the zone chips?

Which Chips and power

What chips are people using on their 6 pots?

Any differences in fuel consumption?

Do you have to use better quality petrol?

Does the engine run any hotter?

Can you specify a chip to boost power in a specific engine speed range??

too low shuld only be a problem for good carburation. But if the engine is set up for a relatively high powerband, the gas speed at much lower revs is going to be too slow to get good atomisation of the fuel. a small engine with lots of valve overlap will be wasting its time and effort as fuel may s...

Anyone know what the rod lengths are on 320s?

the link reckoned that theyre 130 for the eta and 135 for the i engine.
Im guessing the stock 320 is even longer?

thanks for the help,

Is this a new problem or has it gradually got worse? Have you ever had anything "adjusted" on the fuelling? Could it be fuel starvation or knackered injectors? If it starts to pull ok at 3k where does the power stop? I dont spend much time out of the 3 to 6k powerband which seems ample for me. TTT
