Re: What a day! Crash damage! ADVICE PLEASE. PICS INSIDE
I really dont know wether or not to pull the plug on this company im using, and try and go it alone. I mean they arent helping me at all, so far minimal communication with them although its quite a conplex case, no car to drive, and an insulting £600 valuation. What do i do?!!! What have you signed...

Make sure you have insurance to cover you while you are on the ring.
Try to avoid hitting the barriers or crashing as the bill can be quite large.

I would be seriously interested in your car mate.
Thing is as said above it needs time and money spent on it.
If you were willing to sell for around £800 to £1000 perhaps we could talk.

Also, spoke to my car insurance today, they're talking to the underwriter because the car didn't have an MOT at the time of the fire. Is anyone an insurance expert on here? There was one guy but i cant remember his name. Can anyone help? Car was booled in for its MOT the very next day, and i have p...

Re: Getting car back after a re spray
If it was baked in an oven i reckon it will be cured enough when you get it but im ging back to the days when we used 2k paint. Give it a few days i suppose to be safe. I would give the paint a good coat of polish/wax to seal the paint etc. In terms of waxoyl/wax protection. if it was mine i would w...

Re: Re-spray costs? Ideas please.
Im a bit stuck as I am sentimentally attached to my E30 of 12 years and am trying to decide whether to pay to have the body work sorted or to pay someone to put the good bits on another (better car), also going to cost allot. If I could find a good mint one I could sell mine and have that but its n...

Yes at garage A it will cost £400. At garage B it will cost £850. At garage c it will cost £2500. Thats not supposed to sound funny in any way. What i am saying is costs can vary so much.It depends on the garage labour costs and materials they use plus how good a job they will do. As you say,you kno...

Even with an agreed valuation and certificate, your not guaranteed to receive the full amount without proof are you Lee? This. You still need reports and proof its worth what you agree. Dont you need this to get the agreed value to begin with? It depends on if it is a true agreed value one. When i wa...

on my old is, and a common fault with e30s, is the hand break shoes in the rear drums, its held in via a pin in the backing plates, the hole rusts through and the pin comes out and the break shoes come loose, and make a funny noise I believe that's the issue yeah...something's come loose in the o/s...

Re: agreed valuation from insurance
If a car has been a previous cat C or D it will usually reduce the value by about 1/3 on a regular policy. If you are going for an agreed value policy, then you are agreeing a valuation with them at the outset (although you need to mention the Cat C bit). Once they are agreed on a valuation with yo...

Re: Yellow fog lights
Front fogs are not a MOT testable item , so any colour you want. Why would you want people to think you/your turd was French :? This is true. They do not test front fogs. If you fitted them they should be legal to use on the road as you can have whote or yellow fog lights showing but no other colours.

it would be a new wing rather than repair, and door if you can get one, although your door ideally needs to be kept as it will be red/original color underneath and inside etc, but then that will mean pulling it out, lots of filler etc, so youd want to use someone good, or jackpot would be to find an...

Sadly i am going to say its a write off and will probably be a cat d write off. The insurance company will normally repair a car if it costs less than a certain percentage of their book value.
