Re: Clutch replaced now running like a pig!
He said he hadnt looked at the ECU properly yet only by checking pins? Not sure what he meant by that. Surely the fuel pump staying on all the time cant be good either?

Re: Clutch replaced now running like a pig!
I dont blame you one bit. After my heated discussion with him it appears he is just as interested to know whats wrong with it as I am. My complaint is he keeps putting it off and not spending time on mine. I just thought if you talked to him he could go through what he had done and his suspicions et...

Re: Clutch replaced now running like a pig!
I have lost count of whats been replaced/checked. Just had a 15 min barny with this mechanic. He says he has found a few faults like the fuel pump seems to stay on all the time and that even if the car is off the ECU gets warm? This is why he wants to remove the immobiliser. I did get a bit annoyed ...

I agree totally Spadge, he is going to charge me for removing the alarm too. DO you reckon I should tell him not to bother and get the car back off him. 320touring from on here has very kindly said he would have a look at mine this evening.

Would an LPG conversion kit that is currently fitted to an E36 318is fit my E30 318is? If so has anyone any experience of having these kits installed and how much would it be likley to cost?

I read somewhere that e30's dont like the bosch 4 point plugs which I fitted two weeks ago. I changed them today the ones I took out were all black, after fitting the new ones I did 10 miles and it was sweet then the problem returns jumping and missing all over the shot!

Re: 318is which injectors will be ok? Quick reply needed!
Hang on!! If you have a 318iS that only runs on three, it's not the injector but the ECU. These ECU's have a coil driver for each cylinder and the iS ones were well known for failing on just one. So am I better off getting a new ecu then? If so does it need to be an e30 318is specific one? I can se...

lol, well im clueless as im no mechanic. I looked to see if I could remove the manifold to get at the existing injectors and clean them but I bottled it before I undid a single bolt. Too worried ill break something or not be able to put it back together.
