Re: Question and part numbers
Keep the boot you have and modify the servo vacuum pipe to the much simpler arrangement used on later 325's. I do this as a matter of course on any M20 I change the boot on, as it simplifies the engine bay and makes future maintenance much easier on the inlet side of the engine, as the pipe can eas...

Re: Question and part numbers
Is this what you are after? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280763790305?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 :?: Thanks for the replies, Yes, as long it will fit the b25 throttle body. Alternatively a part for the smaller diameter pipe that would allow me to fit the boot that I bought.

Question and part numbers
I need to turn the superior knowledge of the zone here. The Problem: I bought a b25 throttle body for my 320i and got a new rubber boot to fit, however this rubber boot is different to that which came off my b20. On my b20 one, the boot had a smaller diameter offshoot coming off it, (connecting to a...

Re: M20 B20 Options (Again!!)
No mention of changing the cam in the wiki article? Does this need to be done? Up to you I suppose, but I have never heard of anyone sticking with the b20 cam, I have an old article from Total BMW about 2.7 and 2.8 m20 builds and in the 2.7 example the start point was a b20 and they used a b25 cam ...

Re: M20 B20 Options (Again!!)
Re: johnt0709 question, A b25 cam is the lowest you should be going for, I dont think a b20 cam would work well in 2.7, you need to decide this before getting your custom ECU chip from Ant. Re: Timsands question, have a read of http://www.e30zone.net/e30zonewiki/index.php/Building_a_2.7 As it explai...

Re: M20 B20 Options (Again!!)
Regarding the throttle body yes IMHO, you need to get the b25 inlet manifold for the the injectors anyway so it normally comes with the b25 throttle body attached, does not cost a lot either so I am going use the b25 throttle body on mine.
What cam are you thinking of using?

Re: M20 B20 Options (Again!!)
I would go the 2.7 route now using the 320/323 head, then build a 2.8. If you are going to stick with the 2.7, then build it properly with the 325 pistons and head, people underestimate how important squish is in getting a motor to perform properly, using pistons not matched to the head is  IM...

Re:
I think it depends on whether you want something that will be quick as standard or something to use as a base for further modifications, while a 318is is better than 320i, and a better starting point if you are going down the road of m50/52 conversions, with the better brakes as standard etc a 318is...

Re:
I think its brilliant!
Of course it could always be interpreted as only 1 in 4 e30s work now a days, the guy at the front, as well as obviously having had HIDs fitted, is towing the other 3, and some smart ass hanging on for the ride at the back!

E28 for me, with the e12 a close second, I actually did not like the e34 when it came out first, but it has grown on me over the years, still don’t like the look of the back of it.

or
http://www.oldcolonelcars.co.uk/

M20b23 info
Right, my m20b20 will probably be due a rebuild in the next year or so (200,000 miles just rolled up, and it's my daily driver) and I was thinking about turning it into an m20b23. From what I understand everything but the crankshaft, rods and pistons are the same as an m20b20. Firstly am I right in ...
