Re: Super light power steering. Help!!!!

All sorted now. Just in case anyone's curious as to the cause of the fault, it's because I'm a fooking idiot. I'd modified the splined shaft on the rack to be 10mm shorter to allow better clearance to the manifold, and cut it below the pin that holds the center shaft in place. So it was sending high...

Re: Super light power steering. Help!!!!

Just had a thought. I assumed the E30 PAS pump wouldn't fit and I'm using the E34 one. Is this right or should I have fitted the E30 PAS pump?

Re: Super light power steering. Help!!!!

Yeah I've got the high pressure hose on the pump (the small one) and the high pressure inlet on the rack (the small one), the same size. Then the return from the rack (the bigger one) going through a cooler then back to the reservoir. Then I've got a feed coming from the resevoir to the pump on the ...

Super light power steering. Help!!!!

Ive fitted my M60B40 and everythings good apart from having super light power steering. It's so light that when sitting in it you can give the wheel a flick with one finger and it will spin all the way to lock. I've piped the hydro output of the pump back to the reservoir and I'm running a Z3 rack. ...

Re: M60s rear LSD

The 5 has a large case diff and the E30 can only take small or medium case diffs. Internal pars cannot be swapped between medium and large case diffs so if you want to use the 5 series LSD then you'll need to put the whole rear subframe in which is quite a job but possible. I've used a 525d medium c...

Re: Wiring, its starting but not ticking over

Do you have all your vacume pipes connected? I was trying to run mine the other day after disconneting the brake servo vacume and couldn't work out why it wouldn't tick over. It did run like that but only if I kept revving it. Other thing is fuel. I spent a while trying to get mine to start then rea...

Re: Where does this hose go

I had the same trouble trying to remember where that went. I ended up just blocking it off with a rubber cap, engine all works fine so I'm assuming you don't need it. Unless your fitting the hydro brakes.

Re: Kerrie's Touring M60 Manual swap

I'd definately be interested if they can make more manifolds, I've spent a while tring to make mine fit but I'm not really happy with the results. If your man can make more then let us know!! Nice build by the way.

Re: Black Diamond Pad's ?

Where are you getting your ebc pads? Everywhere I look for pads for my 1991 318is only do greenstuff or Ferodo 2500. Ferodo's are a bit pricey for me at the minute. :)
