320km/h on an E30 instrument cluster is just gay. When you drive over 230, it already feels like the car is going to take off.
That being said, this (or similar devices) might help you in this case.

IIRC it was to do with amplified vibration onto these bushes, not rotation. But it is only a highly unlikely possibility thrown in with the others.

b4 is OEM, as stated.
But the b6 are standard length, while the b8 are the shortened ones. Apart from that, 6&8 are similar.

Re: BMW E30 M-Tech cabrio, V8 swap.
You're running the 6 speed gearbox, aren't you? What oil did you use? I read from a few gearboxes destroying (badly swelling) some plastic bushes when run with good but non MTF-LT2 gear oil, creating similar if not anywhere as loud symptoms as yours... And I know from experience that the S6S is not ...

Re: steering wheel knocking noise
The only thing I can imagine is that you have play somewhere in the steering or suspension and that the sound is now transmitted through the solid column instead of dying at the guibo. But you should have felt it before if it is to the point of clunking... As for the phone, english drivers are defin...

Re: Check panel
It means it is broken. However, it depends a bit on your meter - 1000ohm is a fair resistance, and a cheap one might sense it as open circuit. But if there is no continuity at all, no current is flowing, which would point towards answering this [...] It has a 1000 ohm resistor shunted across it, but...

Re: Wave goodbye to engine transplants
That's tame compared to some other european countries. Take CH and F for example, the only way to homologate a swapped engine without playing with import/export to more lenient countries is to follow the official homologation process (like a manufacturer does with a new car) meaning for example cras...

I've had a non working revcounter in the old ix I'm putting back together - found out that the C101 was totally messed up with non matching pins -> no signal.
Although this is ruled out if it happened on a previously known working car.

If it's hollow (like a caphead), you need a Txx.
If the torx head is pointing out ("like" a hexhead), you need an Exx.
If you can measure the thing, I can tell you. - but minicooper172 is probably not far off.

Re: Coding Plug Mod E30M3
does the coding plug even fit the e30 counter? You have to remove it from the casing and just insert the PCB into the slot, carefully engaging the pins without damaging them, but its not too fiddly if you have a fair level of dexterity. interesting! And the old M88/S38 uses the same crank sensor? (...

Re: Check panel
From what I read in my diagrams, the dynamic sensor sets the fault and the static on clears it. Re: Coding Plug Mod E30M3
One detail, as I've looked into it as well for my car: It seems that even with an M3 counter and a 6 cylinder plug, the counter is still about 10% off the correct scale. (source e30.de) Don't know about e28 m5 at all though. (does the coding plug even fit the e30 counter?) Without looking at the dat...

Re: Check panel
it's because this is the static switch only. You have to ground it, and at the same time cut the wire to the dynamic switch, pin 10 on a '88 C101 (violet/green car side, blue engine side)

Re: ABS Problem Has Everyone Stumped!
Did they check the overvoltage protection relay that on a lhd is next to the steering column? (I suppose it has to be somewhere behind the glovebox on rhd cars)
This relay has a fusible link and has been described many times as a prime suspect for such a fault by a few knowledgeable people on here.

just take the lower sump off.
Apart from cleaning years of gunk that are most likely resting there, oil pump bolts on M60 are apparently known to unwind themselves, which is a bit unfortunate. If it is the case, clean them and locktite them back in.

Re: M60 secondry throttle butterfly?
m60 don't. IIRC the mechanism is in the line to the slave, looks like a brake pressure limiter. A sure way on these to extract more power "easily" is to get rid of the cats -> mine is quite silent with only them and a backbox on, so they do slow the flow. But there again, I don't think you kept them...
