Re:
The SA 318i also had the M44 engine and those were the ones that the dealer brought into the UK and got into trouble over. They had the SE spec and not the M.Tech bits that the UK iS had.

They were a special only on offer in the UK between Feb 1998 and June 1998 although a few have been exported to other countries There were only 1050 still registered in the UK about ...

Re: Longlife stainless steel exhausts - any good?
Had a cat back system done on my E36 in march 2006 at their Leeds depot. Got a Citroen AX as courtesy car for the day( better than nothing). Sounds great , never had any trouble with it and it still looks good. http://s114.photobucket.com/albums/n256/steve_seed/?action=view¤t=roadmap007.flv ht...

Best way is to have both :D My E36 is fantastic. Had it 7 years now. Its a 1998 318iS saloon. They only made 1056 of them, it has the M Tech bits but the engine is the 1.9 twin OHC 140 bhp 16 valver. I've put a pipercross filter on it, A custom made S/Steel performance exhaust system and had it rema...

Thanks to everyone for the positive comments, to get them from other E30 owners makes the effort worth while. Hi Steve, Re the Tatton Park event, I found it compact and un entertaining due to the small layout :? I've had some good years there in the past and this was by far the worst, I turned up at 10 and was gone by 10.30, maybe I should of given it bit more time but I bailed out with many others :? So i...

I've never been to the Sheldon meet, I've seen it in the meets section on the car club site, I'm not a paid member and never will be :D The show at Tatton was really dreadful, I had some good visits in the past and this was a big let down  I remember dozens of stands with parts galore and a h...

Cheers.andrew320i wrote:Wow that is mint! Is the paint original or has it been resprayed?
The bonnet and boot had to be resprayed due to marks made by some sort of chemical which would not polish out and the drivers side rear panel had some paint damage which required spraying but apart from that its original.

Re: Originality and good grammar vs the boy racer
Its all about personal taste and freedom of choice. Original or modified at least we have the choice. Just remember if Hitler had won the war we would all have to drive VW Beetles ( god help us). I keep mine totally original but I still like to see a nice tidy modified E30. Anyway just remember all ...

south manchester good spray shop recommendations please
Hi folks,
I'm looking for a top notch body shop to get some spraying done. I'm in the Altrincham area south of manchester. Anyone got any good recommends. Last guy I used was crap. Luckily it was only on my E36 but now its for the E30 so must be really good.
Any info appreciated cheers. S.

Good on you mate. I am in the middle of a resto myself though no welding required fortunately. I've had some of that what for its only a 316i business. Looks like new.... I'd get some tuffed mats in there to save with the carpet cleaning....not an issue untill winter now though i suppose! Are you keeping it as a 316? Yes I have some grey BMW mats for it and I will be keeping it as a 316. I want to keep it original. The sport interior was an option...

Looks good. Nice colour. I always use zymol myself. As the coats build up it seems the shine gets deeper and deeper almost like you can put your hand in it.

Thanks for the kind comments guys. Fortunately it not a daily driver ( thats the 318is saloon) so I can do it at my leisure. E30 restoration stage 1 completed.
Towards the end of last year I bought a little white 316i lux as a restoration project, the first stage is now complete. The interior is finished after many weeks of sourcing parts, much pinching of fingers, swearing and the occasional small loss of blood it has gone from this, http://i114.photobuck...
