Re: ALPINA BOOT SPOILERS NOW IN STOCK!
Haha, in my defence BMWNZ stick M badges on pretty much everything over here. The number of e46 318i's with motorsport kits and badges is huge. Its the only way they can sell them and Ive even had a BMW dealer try to tell me they are genuine motorsports just because they have the kit optioned from n...

Re: Faulty washer jets
I agree wholeheartedly Brian. Snapped a fan belt on the motorway yesterday so have to get to the dealers for a new one of those, so a new valve will be collected at the same time.
Thanks everyone.

Re: Faulty washer jets
Thanks fellas,
So if its a return valve why does it have two holes for the water to come out when its not going down the pipes ? Is that just in case they get blocked ?

Faulty washer jets
My washers have suddenly stopped working so I opened the bonnet to see two jets of water coming out from two holes on the central bit of plastic where the main hose splits left and right. The two holes look like they are meant to be there, so are they backups in case the left and right hoses get blo...

Re: Door pods - yes or no ?
Brilliant thanks mate. I admit the speakers I currently have are probably pretty ropey by now, so that will be a good start. I remember changing to a bog-standard set of Sony's in an old e32 and the difference was incredible. All I was wondering with the pods was whether they are more 'show' than 'go'

Door pods - yes or no ?
I have found a set of door pods for not a lot of money and was wondering whether it its worth the install or not. I have a standard e30 headunit which has AUX IN so my ipod connects up nicely already and I still have the standard 20 year old speakers. I want to keep the car as standard as possible (...

Re: M42 losing water
Well it turns out its the radiator. I couldnt see anything whilst stuck on the side of the road, but as soon as my mechanic started with a pressure test it just started pouring out of the top. A direct replacement isnt cheap down here, so Ive been searching to see if anything else can be used. Ive f...

Re: M42 losing water
Thanks guys. There is no evidence of water in the oil, the filler cap and everywhere I can see inside is all ok. I had a quick look at the radiator side facing the engine but couldnt see anything at all. Havent checked the front yet though. There was initially coolant, but the last couple of days ha...

M42 losing water
My e30 m42 decided to start over heating the other day when I was stuck in traffic with the weather being nice and hot. I pulled over after 30 mins of going nowhere with the gauge between 3/4 and the red. I gave it 20 mins to cool down, filled the header tank to the 'cold' mark (it didnt take much),...

Here's a couple of my 318is. First it started off a standard 'is' with se rear lip and 14" BBS but missing the front lip. http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/3242/img5125.jpg http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/4470/img5123g.jpg So I got myself a lip, then swapped the se rear lip for a tech1 rear wing...

Re: opinions on a 318is
I dont think it quite stretches to the extent it does in the UK. Those who own them love them for what they are rather than constantly trying to compare them a 325i. As I said before, my personal experience has me in an 'is' but of course their rarity in NZ gives them just a little bit more alure th...

Nope, only 25 were imported into New Zealand and there are only thought to be 15 left up and running.Dave_M3 wrote: 25 318iS?!?
I have two of them![]()
I reckon you missing a few zeros after those numbers
Its quite a tight knit community down here and as I said most of the 318is owners know each other.

Re: opinions on a 318is
Ive owned both a 325i and now have a 318is. Although I enjoyed the 325i it never put a smile on my face like the 'is' does. Sure it doesnt have the grunt or pull of the 6 pot, but its just so light you can throw it around all over the place. Horses for courses really, but given the choice all over a...

Mine was so bad that I had no choice but to leave it to the experts.
They stripped the entire interior, stripped the seats down and treated all the leather and then put it all back together again. It took two of them three whole days !
Sorry I have no idea what they used to do it with

Re: installing side repeaters
Those are definately not e30 ones and look to me like e32/e34 ones. The e30 ones are bigger and have a slightly different lens shape to them. It also looks like that one is upside down, Im sure on my 750il that the screw was on the right towards the rear of the car but that was a couple of years ago...

A little embarrasing to be asking for this on my first post :o: but Ive just picked up a South African built 325i in New Zealand and the dealers here say they can get no information on it whatsoever. Having said that they are the most unhelpful people youve ever met. If you wouldnt mind checking AG6...
