Re: Left rear brake makes a squealing sound constantly ??
If the metal backing of the pad is on the disc then the pad is worn out and if the disc surface is damaged then that's buggered too. New discs and pads for the rear I think, and clean the calliper carrier where the pads sit. When you fit the new stuff use copper grease on the ends and backs of the ...

Left rear brake makes a squealing sound constantly ??
Hi guys, There is a problem with the left rear brake. The wheel was removed and I can see a small part of the outer brake pad is touching the brake disc. I think the squealing noise is caused by part of the brake pad touching the disc constantly. Also there is one clearly visible gouge on the disc. ...

Re: Can't turn ignition switch to on position, can't start c
The part you circled is the starter position interlock. The bit that you are interested in is in the left hand picture, the square peg halfway down the barrel. When you turn the key to ACC and insert your pin, the peg retracts and the barrel can be removed from the column. PM me if you are in Sydne...

Hi Willnz,
The steering lock doesn't have a hole like the one you showed in the pic. LOL after tapping the thing for a bit, now the key can be turned to the off and acc position but not start so I am back to square one lol.

Take them off and check the pins float. The older ones that are retained with a 8mm bolt with a 13mm head are the most problematic ones. Pull the pins out, clean and grease up with a waterproof grease. Make sure the boots are intact, replace if torn. I have the ATE caliper. It use the guiding bolts...

Re: Wheel area making a squeaking noise
Probably the brake pads. Make sure your floating calipers are floating properly, they tend to jam up if the pins are not kept clean and lubricated and dust boots torn. If you have a lip on the disc itself, this can also cause squeaking in the pads. Also make sure the spring tensioners on the pads a...

Wheel area making a squeaking noise
Hi guys,
When I am driving slowly, the wheel area makes a squeaking noise and it sounds similar to brake squeal noise. I jack the car up and turn all the wheels and no noise. The sound doesn't happen all the time. It is driving me nuts lol
Anyone have similar problems.
Cheers
