Re: Which CPS?
I know this is an old thread but to anyone else considering the same, having had more than my fair share of crank position sensor issues over the last 10 years with mine I would categorically recommend you stick with original BMW, yes it might cost three times (or more) than a cheap one but cheap se...

Saw you in town last Friday in the white peril, I had one of these with the M50 (remember the old white 525i Sport with the really wide Rondel alloys that used to park by Bellozanne for years? now in pieces at Sam's yard) Got to love an E34, the quality of the interior is really good, definately a s...

Just remember to check the gas strut is safely tucked away when re-fitting otherwise you'll end up putting a big dink in your newly fitted bonnet, like I might have done recently, ahem

Re: Cheap Thermostats, Problems?
Can I do the newspaper test at idle? I thought there was an issue like something to do with airflow temperature over the thermal part of the viscous coupling in that doing it idle wouldn't make the clutch in the coupling behave in the same way as if the car was moving? Or am I talking horse-shit and...

Cheap Thermostats, Problems?
Gents, is it wise to only use genuine BMW thermostats? are cheap thermostats known to be iffy? I've fitted a Circoli thermostat and I'm thinking it's playing up already, my '88 325i Sport was overheating when idling, a new thermostat and properly bleeding it appeared to completely cure it for a shor...

I've been watching this car for at least 12 years, the woman who owned it should have sold it to one of the dozens of people who have made her quite sensible offers for it over the years, instead, she thought it was worth something ridiculous so let it fester and waste away only to end up being writ...

Alpina Three Spoke Steering Wheel Valuation.
Just debating whether or not to sell my Alpina three spoke steering wheel, without the comedy 'I'll give you 58p and a packet of Wotsits' type answers I'm wondering what to ask for it, I bought it from BMW brand new a few years back but wanted to save it for that day (if it ever comes) when I have m...

Hi, I've tried searching but only seem to find answers for four-pot cars and I'm not sure if they're the same in this regard, I have an '88 325i, can somebody confirm which heater hose goes onto which heater pipe at the bulkhead? the BMW parts computer shows that the inlet hose that goes from the th...

There was a thread recently about this, I've just bought the CTEK MXS 5.0 which is the replacement for the X3600 and a bit better (I need to do everything from motorbike batteries to large car batteries) so it depens what you want really, however it should mean that the X3600 should be slightly chea...

thanks guys - what models have you been using ? I'm thinking of the XS36000 or MX5.0.
