MOT Time

Well , just got the Sport back from it's Mot . Failed only on a broken O/S/R suspension spring . Really relieved cos ive really neglected the old boyover the winter . Slightly annoyed at myself though because there was a 325Se in my local scrappy with a set of Eibach springs and Koni shox at the rea...

Hi Finny . I did this mod on my Sport about 6 months ago . I used the Z3 1.9 shift lever . It clears my prop with no modifications required at all . There is a little play left to be honest but it is a lot better .

Fuel light should come on with 6 litres left, and you don't say it came on, so either it was very close to coming on or you have a 62 litre tank. The needle goes right back past the red painted bit onto the bit that lights up before the light comes on. This is BMW quality engineering. Trust the lig...

Sport fuel tank capacity

Hi guys . I know this question has been asked a few times and i have done a topic search but still not sure . Last night i ran my Sport until the fuel guage needle was past the white mark after the red section . I filled up with fuel and it would only take 48.55 litres . Now allowing for a bit of fu...

Widge I work in a Vauxhall ( oi stop laughing ) garage and we do MOT's . It wont show up that the car has been checked elsewhere on the computer . If the brake pipes are to be painted and no signs of corrosion are visible then it will pass . The test ruling basically is that if you cant see it you c...

I just managed 100 miles for half a tank. But it takes about Ԛ£40 to fill up ( odd.. I thought all tourings had the larger fuel tank??) Im getting 100 miles for just over 1/2 tank too . Must admit most of my driving is with the engine cold ( needle just out of blue at best ) , so there probabl...

Morning Sharknose 3 Easiest way to change your cold start sensor is to also remove your coolant temp guage sensor ( brown sensor right next to it ) . You'll get onto it with an open ended spanner easy enough . They are not tight so you shouldnt round it . I would open the coolant bottle to depressur...

Noticed was low on fuel so went to fill up ( by the way how cheap is fuel in the U.S. !!!! ) only to find I'd developed a gusher . "Fiddlesticks" I said to myself . Had a look and found the filler neck was ...

stuck in slides or maybe a seized caliper . Checked mine last weekend
