Have you knocked the 2 long bolts up into the car?
When I dropped mine it was very stiff, ended up wiggling it with a BIG screwdriver (up the 2 bolt holes) and it eventually came free.

I would say that it would be won or lost on the start line, a good start (reading the lights, leaving just before you see the green) will give you the advantage

320i 731 Head Casting Date 07 02????

Just been checking over my 320i lump im hopefully selling, and noticed as well as the 1 277 731 there is also another number towards the front of the head marked as 07 02. When I originally purchased the donor car for my ill-fated touring transplant, the previous owner mentioned a head change, but d...

If its anything like my 2 then when you remove the cassette box it will leave a hole. To access (if I rember correctly!) there is a screw under the rear ashtray and its got 2 clips at the front.

As above, but, as I found on mine, you also need all the brackets to hold the AFM/Airbox and radiator header tank, otherwise its easy
Mine is a 318 Touring so the suspension (apart from the springs) were OK

Not knowing my E30's that well, Im considering either selling this or breaking it for spares (and after all the hassle of going from 1.8 auto to 2.0 manual and all the associated servicing I carried out!). Re: Engine issue after engine swap

But think of the satisfaction when you finally sort it, and how much you'll learn about cars on the way! True, by the end of this I am going to know this car inside out, still prefer a big V8 and a carb though 8) There's not really many reasons I can think of that would make a M20 run very rich. Ob...
