Re: Management
So im not really keen on swapping all the loom over to 1.3 just to buy a pnp system if i can wire in a normal one for half the price ..If my understanding is correct This system would be fine and is cheap at the price (with 8` harness and postage it comes to about 400 quid) just would like a second...

Yeah I know, still less than what I payed.
If you're not planning on running ~400whp save your money and buy a good standalone ecu

Re: forged rods and pistons for turbo m20
Wiseco, JE, Eagle are the ones I checked out when I was building my engine. I think Ireland engineering sells forged pistons and rods too. I ended up with a custom set of forged pistons, pins and rods made by Wiseco As Gunni said, what kind of power are you looking for as it's quite an investment. An...

Re: Has anyone actually bought one of these manifolds?
That's my problem, I'm using AN fittings on the oil filter adapter, no bending possible there.
Think I'll have to get a relocation kit, or a very short oil filter

Gunni, Did you guys use a shorter oil filter when turning the housing upside down like that?

Re: Has anyone actually bought one of these manifolds?
Ok, I'm looking for a 11sec run with my car next year. Even 11.99 would make me very happy. Ok so I got the manifold in today, have to say that it is shitty, there is weld material in the runners. You can see where they tried to grind away some material to free up the ports but stil they could've gr...

Nice to see some pics of it fitted, hopefully mine will fit fine too.
How much boost did it take your friend to run the 12.04sec 1/4 mile? was it on street tires?

I just bought one of those for my car, cause my homemade adapter was shitty.
Will let you guys know how much work is needed to fit it and take some pics when fitted.

Re: Just bought a hx40 on impulse....
HX40 will work just fine, I don't know if yours has an internal wastegate, if so the wastegate is useless. I'm not running a Holset myself but there are enough guys that do, maybe you will have a little bit more lag than a HX35 but it will be much more efficient at higher boost(10+ psi) About the ma...

Re: 325i turbo
No problem, it ain't hard to do just be prepared because sometimes there are some little things that will be troublesome. Best thing to do is gather all the parts needed then start with the project, also do read a lot of info, doesn't matter if it isn't e30 related, every bit of info on how to tune ...

Re: 325i turbo
I have the AEM UEGO wideband sensor, I got it from a seller on ebay, it costs $200 and is shipped for free, worldwide. It has the gauge so you can see the readings, that's the thing I like about this one, the gauge is actually the controller unlike the Innovate LC-1 which has the sensor, controller ...

Re: 325i turbo
What I said goes for both the lower and higher comp engines, you don't want to be running over 8 psi without being sure your tuning is correct(good fueling, timing etc). An fmu is a fuel management unit, it raises fuel pressure in a linear way like 12:1 or 10:1 Begi has one that works great on the e3...

Re: 325i turbo
8 psi on a standard engine, with bigger injectors will work fine, just be sure to use a fmu so that fuel presure rises as boost rises. And you'll have to adjut the afm, so use a wideband oxygen sensor it'a need to be sure your engine isn't running lean and to tune it right. fuel pump doesn't need to...

Re: 325i turbo
I turbocharged 1 of my previous e30's a couple of year ago, and got 247 whp@ 8 psi. This was on the stock motronic, with a m30 afm, 24 lb injectors, fmu and a schrick cam, rest of the engine was untouched except for being rebuilt. It ran goud for a while, but I had issues with boostspikes and the en...

Re:
If you get the m30 afm ending in the numbers 027 you won't have to switch the circuitboards, it will be plug and play this model reads the same values as the m20 afm .
If you get any other m30 afm then you have to change the circuitboard so that the readings will be off the correct value.

Re:
Yes do it, with those modifications your m20 afm will be a restriction, the best thing to do is to fit bigger injectors too. If you do so just fit one thing at the time: fit injectors, start the car let idle for a while and after that fit the afm and start again and let it idle again. And yes the m3...

Re: suspesion query
yes the back is a straight swap....just take out the shocks and replace them witth the hottuning ones same for the rear springs......... only when you get your donor car just take the whole rear assembly of(diff, trailing arms, etc) and put it on the 316, alot faster then swapping single parts. And r...

Re: suspesion query
That I can't say for sure, I guess it would be possible (better ask someone else for confirmation) ,I just replaced everything with 325 stuff as the brakediscs and calipers on the 325 are different from the 316. You said you wanted the suspension sorted out before you drop the engine in, then go get...

Re: suspesion query
Well I say don't buy a 316 kit cause when you drop the m20 in it will surely bottom out, you'll have a hole in the oil pan for sure Buy the 325 kit and do the rear and wait untill you get the donor car to do the front, or if you can't wait buy the front suspension(the stuff I told you to remove from...

Re: suspesion query
Just take the whole front suspension of the 325 donor car, loosen the nuts of the shock tower, the stabilizer bar,1 nut for the ball joint, 2 bolts for the bracket on the rear of the control arm doing this will allow you to drop the whole shock/control arm assembly, repeat this for the other side, a...

Re: suspesion query
you can order the hottuning kit for the 325 and start lowering the rear, for the front you will need the suspension from the donor car if the hottuning kit comes with just the strut inserts as these won't fit in your 316's struts 325 = 51mm, 316 = 45mm if the kit comes with a whole shock assembly th...
