Those wheels look amazing, dont see many E30s around here (I live in Plymouth too). Look out for this one. http://www.e30zone.co.uk/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=6164&highlight=bjorn. I have always taken mine to BMG but might use Tony Fox in future, stopped in there a few months back and ...

Cloth seats & door cards refurb - Any Ideas?
Right, Had some work done a while back and the mechanic has got his grubby mits all over the light grey door cards & seat bolsters on my IS. Any one got any ideas on removing it? (its the general black filth you would expect to find on an overal clad hooligan). Ive got a mate who works in a garage (...

Thanks for that, havnt noticed the car run forward much but if it starts ill know whats up. Dunno if I can fork up the full Ԛ£200 for everything ill probably just have a go at replacing the 2x cylinders & fluid. I didnt realise you could drop power with an induction kit I though it would be an ...

Interested to see the outcome of this, I have an IS and have exactly the same problem. I had my clutch done about 4 years ago so its not that old. Since having some work done early this year it slips every now and again. I have tried the majority of tests suggested but always seems to be as it shoul...

Dunno who I sent that to then, sounded pretty knowledgable aswell. May be going beach early sat morning depending on what surfs like. If its no good it shouldnt be a problem to fit it for you after your interview, might have to do it at my folks house though if its raining as I havnt got a garage. I...

Theyre such nobs. In a garage with all the right tools they'd have it all done in an hour or so! To be honest yould be able to do it yourself, it would cost you nothing & you would know exactly where everything is run if you ever get a problem. Just do like like I said in the PM & as long as you get...

Looking good mate lower miles than mine aswell! Did you notice much difference powerwise with the green induction kit? My K&N sounds a bit different but cant say it goes a lot better. Heard that an enlarged throttle body and chip make a fair bit of difference though, might invest when ive got some m...

Yeah, Jimbob the engines going really good thanks. We put the bottom end together and its since sailed through the MOT. Like you said it doesnt seem to use any oil like my old one. Just got to sort out a slight lumpyness when cold and it'll be perfect. Hows yours getting on, I thought the 'couple we...

Ill have to hunt down a lip spoiler then, have always felt a bit insecure without one! Dont know whether to go for the standard IS one or Ive seen a Reiger one in an old PBMW's that looks similar but slightly deeper. Anyone know the one? Is this chav? Adam that looks well good, did you lower yours o...

Got some cheap sills if you need them.
Hiya, Had such a bad A reg 316 with Mtech kit many moons ago. Was completley hollow under the flanking. Bought a set of sills but scrapped the thing before fitting them. They cost me 70 pounds but id only be after 2 squid (they run from arch to arch and are about 8 inches deep). I have just put a pi...

318 IS Plugs and leads.
Hello, Finally got my car back after a blown bottom end (thanks for the new one jimbob if your reading this). Everything now working but slightly lumpy, ive just remortgated for the cost of new HT heads (and plugs) but on trying to remove the old ones dont know if they just pull off the distributorl...

Might be interested in the Alpina
Hiya mate,
Whats the Alpina like mechanically being as theres no MOT? Im trying to source a local donor car (live in Plymouyh) for an engine swap with my broken IS. If your mate or chap you bought it off doesnt have it I would definitely be interested if its OK mechanically.
Cheers Bjorn

IMMAC 318IS WITHOUT BLOWN HEAD GASKET!
In responce to what I put on the other dayI have just found out that it wasnt the head gasket but the bottom end gone (cylinders 1 & 4 have dirty great scores down them leading to no compression). As the cylinder head end is fine (3 years old) I can sell it and all the top end bits from the recent r...

Thanks
The exact same thing happened to Jimbob from this forum. The head cracked on his iS also so we've whipped the whole lot out and he bought a 325i donor car and a 525 eta engine and we're currently in the process of building him a 2.7 engine. It depends on how long you're willing to wait for the job ...

Thanks,
First a couple of words of warning. First, the M20 engines are plagued by cracking cylinder heads, so the new engine might not be quite the fit and forget solution you were hoping for. Secondly, beware of heavily rear ended BMWs if the impact has moved the diff. The shock travels up the propshaft, ...

Immac IS with blown head gasket, engine swap?
Any Engine swap advise please, I have an immaculate standard IS, the head gasket looks to have gone for a second time (last time 3 years ago I opted for a full top end rebuild and new cylinder head at cost of over 1500 pounds - now out of warranty!) I am looking to buy a rear ended manual 325I from ...
