The battery was old and a complete dud. The pressure pump has possibly gone the same way as there is no buzzing.

Just put the new battery in and she still did not want to fire up

I have same rust problems in similar places - mainly round the arches.

never had a problem lifting my 22 year old rust bucket with the BM supplied jack, if people are putting them through their rusty floors it's obviously the car thats at fault not the jack
