Thanks Brianmoooore,

The battery was old and a complete dud. The pressure pump has possibly gone the same way as there is no buzzing.

Just put the new battery in and she still did not want to fire up :(

Think I need to go and purchase a Haynes manual or just wait until its payday :D

m10 fuel pumps / relays

my 318i m10 has been dead since Jan 1st :cry: I have got some time on my hands now and would like to resuscitate it. Had a problem with the battery discharging, so am picking up a replacement tomorrow. According to the RAC man there could be problems with the fuel pump / relays. Can anyone offer any...

nice dobbie, I wish my dad would sort out my rust :P

Yours doesn't look tooo bad, I bought some kit from frost.co.uk and have been taking chunks out in the preparation today errr more butchering tomorrow.

cheers Brian, I spoke to a couple of different mechanics and they mentioned the the same thing about the glass.

Looks like I will winding down my windows manually for some time to come :(

bah, the joys of of trying to run an old motor! love it - shame my girlfriend doesn't :D

I have same rust problems in similar places - mainly round the arches.

never had a problem lifting my 22 year old rust bucket with the BM supplied jack, if people are putting them through their rusty floors it's obviously the car thats at fault not the jack :roll:

Alright H-M3, if you are interested in some very rusty steels you are more than welcome to them, I have to wait a little bit to check with the salvage company to make sure they can pick up a car with no wheels. Could be quite amusing to have a bashed up motor on bricks left to rot outside the neighb...
