Only the M3 and 318is have a timing chain. M20 and M40 are both belts.

I have heard something in the past about vw beetle pistons...I think.....
Or maybe I dreamt it lol

M10 can be a cracking motor if done right, I was gonna build one with my old lump but my brother weighed it in!!! was gutted as it had a schrick cam in it! :cry:

my 325 with a chip and a 3.64 slipper running on 15's would do 6.74, stripped out with a cage. thats with slightly more wheelspin than is ideal in first and second lol. with perfect traction i would say maybe 6.6 ish..... the forthcoming m50 project should be even better! winkeye

I took a pug 405 diesel estate in last week which weighed in at 1120kg and only got £113.20, I was a bit gutted to be honest but thats how it goes, at least it's something towards the rebuild....

Ok basically I have a 2 door track car which needs welding to the inner rear arches, is this a big job to do well? does not need to look pretty but does need to be strong, I have a welder so thats not an issue or do I go out and get a better shell? This is the only rot I have found on the car apart ...

I fitted some buckets (mamba they are originally destined for a classic mini but never used - ebay bargain!) in mine using box section from B&Q, think its about 20mm square and proper steel so nice and strong!

will get some pics if and when the rain ever stops!

I think i remember reading somewhere on here that the offset is all wrong and they will fit with spacers. I could be wrong tho :mad:

I get over 300 to the tank out of mine, drive mostly a roads at speed 55mile round trip to work a day. Do give it some beans as and when required and make the lsd earn its keep! average on the obc is normally between 28 and 30 though i did get almost 40 on a recent trip (took bloody ages though!) 8O

was from a local motor factors, cheaper than halfords and they know what a car is! Halfords paint should do the job though. car Looked better in the pics than in real life, the laquer peel was terrible in places and rear quarter had been badly painted so I did this..... Max, was it you car i saw parked in a layby early on i think friday morning last week on the A453 heading towards nottingham?

Was about 7am when i saw it, was a touring with l plates and a big exhaust. Rear L plate in the window

If it has the weber conversion on it (most do) the mpg gauge won't work I am afraid!

Small price to pay though as the weber upgrade is much better than the standard carb

That explains why the diff was easy enough to get off then! Spec has changed a bit since you had it BBS wheels are gone and replaced with the RH Mims lookalikes with yokohama tyres all round Old diff off and replaced with a 3.64 LSD headlights have been smoked interior stripped and two bucket seats ...
