E30 Zone

The Z3 shifter conversion seems like a very practical, simple and worthwhile mod. I have an M10 engined 318i. Will the shifter go into the M10 box? i'm not 100% sure but on my 1989 325 it is a 2 piece system with 2 tail pipes. The early 325's had a 3 piece system which is the bit im not sure about.
