hi guys how much does it cost to do the m52 engine swap

just finding someone who knows what there doing to plum it all in for me but im leaning more towards a engine swap job

was going to give it a very big service but has done some miles 155,000 so was thinking it may need some mods to get the hp and torque back up abit

not sure what way to go relay what ever is easiest and cost effective

ive been told easiest thing to do is put a m50 engine in my e30

does anyone do this kind of service i just dont have time no more

hi all been a while since i was last on here im from essex i was wondering ive bought a 325i 1990 soft top was wondering what good mods i could do to the enigine for a few more horses im going to treat it to a nice exhaust not sure what good things you can do for this engine anyone done one of these...

Hi guys I'm at a scrap yard has anyone got a idea of what engine this gearbox number is from 240.0.0370.90
Any ideas maybe 318i

I'll get some soon as its been sitting in my work for a year gonna try buff it get some shine back and clean engine bay looks very dusty lol

What year of car do I need to look for if I go with a 520 box or do I just go with a e30 low mileage box

Don't get me wrong the 318 gearbox has been through hell and still going ok I cracked the casing it's been on 4 dyno runs and loads of live mapping runs then my fun Friday and Saturday nights
It's done me proud

I ain't unfortunately I'll dig out some pics I took over the years been doing it in stages it's the time and money where I have a everyday car It can be months between doing anything to it but I've had it 8 years now and not looking at selling it any time soon no rush I guess lol

I think the diff is 3:71 LSD don't really go for a big top speed to be fair I'm more acceleration
Just want a good all round box that's why I was thinking 325
My bhp will be around 290 and torque 300 ish

M42 318is just a good gearbox will do the standard 318 has been good was thinking a 325 box??

Do e36 gearboxes fit on e30's then

When are these bootlids and bonnets being done for I'm intrested in getting in on a deal like this

Will the 325 box go straight on or do you have to modify anything like the bell housing or the m3 gearbox did you have to do any mod's to it or was it straight on

Gonna be running about 270 to 290 round that figure so gonna be a lot I no there strong but not sure if a 325 box would be a bit better

Well it's gonna be up to 290bhp with loads of torque and next year booked on a lot of track day meets so just wanted a strong box to cope with some power a raging around a track lol poor thing

I was wondering guys what is the best gearbox I could put on my car from another e30 like a 325 would it fit or are 318 boxes strong enough anyway
If anyone has any info would be great to get some help cheers guys

thanks cee i think what im going to do is alot of front end work and rear bootlid spoiler from dtm but the under diffuser was gonna be like a 5% help wasnt expecting loads of downforce aint comp raceing still a road car just the turbo in it makes it arse happy and want to try plant it in the floor b...

thanks cee im getting a front bit of kit made up plus getting a undertray sump protector with air channels on it aint got side skirts yet but was looking to see if a rear diffuser is possible?

yeah ive got a guy at work who is the nuts at cutting and welding so that aint a problem just finding a diffuser that looks wright for the car and the front air ducts on front bumper are getting made up

im looking at putting a rear diffuser on my e30 for the track use but cant find one no where like f1 or touring car style proper channeled air under the car can anyone help me out at all

well if i was to put a new relay on tonite it would be fine then after about a week it will start to play up like the fuel pump will stop sending fuel to engine every now and then when it happens it's so random mainly on idle not under load when it goes to die ill throttle it to keep it running but ...

thanks guys my IS has no o2 sensor i will check the wires i gave bmw the part number white is dme and green is for fuel but would it only run the pump or does it work on any other electric's on the car it keeps blowing the relay after a few weeks it has a uprated walbro fuel pump possible the wiring...

on mine its the white relay which runs the mains
